Like I said before...this is only a hobby for me. I like this community and this is my only reason for throwing this much money into a car like this. The other cars and communities I have been in are dead...a bunch of stuffy old rich men that cant take losing....They laughed at the "G" once before the beat down....now all they can do is ban it....., plus no one shares info over there. You all share everything. I had fun at Zdayz and saw a fun crowd...got to meet most of you from this site.
I did my time in school...now its time to go crazy. I really dont need 700+ whp...cant use it on the track.....But Sharif is an honest guy....the Airport event was lots of fun....so I dont see it as wasting money as some have stated....I see it as stress relief.
Oh yeah....and there is a Stock Block owner out there that must pay for his actions !!!!!!

I'm in the sub 25 category (well, 25) w/o a year's salary in savings (not even close) and has F/I on credit. Now I bought the car for $17,500, put $4k of my $6k for F/I on the CC. Actually, I rolled everything on to my card because I got a 1.99% rate for the life of the balance. So in total my loan is like $16k (had a down payment on the car), and I'm paying twice the minimum payment each month. It ends up being just like a car loan, w/o the lien and w/o the crazy interest.
With a big rent check and no 2nd income, I don't have all that much money left over to save up and go out every weekend. The way I see it though - I might as well have some fun while I don't have a girl or a family of my own. Once/if that happens, I'll most likely give up the hobby.
We'll see if it's worth it in the end though. I'm doing everything myself, so it's turning out to be pretty cheap F/I wise.

yuppp and lets see.........
live in the hood and have turbo?
or live in a nice neighborhood and have no turbo?
well u wont see me at any bodegas so i go for the nice neighborhood and a NA Z
This is florida where people dont make great money like up north. Im a overworked marine mechanic and I barely take home 33,000 a year. FI is a delusion of grandeur to me. Maybe when the next Z comes out the kits out today will be cheaper. 2500$ installed is my budjet!!! lol. I have a 480$ car payment also! Even If I owned the car FI is a delusion!!!
Untill then NA all the way, Reflash in the future then headers.

Guess I will throw my 2 cents into the ring.
If you are under the age of 25 and cannot pay for F/I outright, absolutely DO NOT put it on credit. You will probably dig a hole that will be difficult to crawl out of for several years. Also, at that age your priorities can change quickly from year to year - girlfriend, wife, house, etc.
You do not have to drop 30K+ to be F/I unless you are going fully built. You can do it in stages as money permits as long as you tune conservitively and dont try to get max power at any given level. Will things break? Absolutely! But, there are members who have gone full build and broken as well. YOU GOTTA PAY TO PLAY!
Lastly, XKR cracks me up ( is that monthly? ) and doug, six figures and an $800 credit card limit for emergencies? Seriously?

I have a debit mastercard through my bank that pays for everything.. and i have 1 Capital One Business card that pays my phone bill, misc stationery... CD's... DVD's... business related stuff .. purely for record keeping and i and i have another Captial One Platinum card that pays for emergency stuff that i rarely ever use.. but my dad always told me to have a card for emergencies.. usually the only times i ever use the card is when i make online purchases for less than $800 from vendors i don't want to have my debit card information and i am a little worried that i might get scammed.. I also have a Wage Works MasterCard with $1000 for medical only purchases that i got through work..
Ahhh... I see. I go the opposite route, 1 card with a $38K limit. Put every expense I can on it and pay in full every month and take the free air miles. The rate is jacked because its an airline miles card, but pay in full and it never matters.
I had the run up the credit cards experience in college as well. Thats a hard lesson to learn. SORRY... back OT now.
