SGP UPDATE

Spend some time at SGP talking to Mark. Yes he is swamped...He has finished a few of the cars. The hurricane did damage his computers and a few other things. He is playing catch up.

I asked him to come on here and let his customers know whats going on....he said he will. I was told that there are a few on here that could have picked up their cars a long time ago....but they owe a balance....He did not call any names...but he is telling the truth.

Like I said before ...Mark is a kool guy....but is in a tough spot at the moment with more work than one man can handle...I have no doubt that he will catch up soon.

The reason for the phones not being answered is obvious....everyone is in the back ...and that is where I found them all when I got to the shop.

I did see the GTR....and its there for things that Mark would rather mention himself.

I will send a PM to all those who contacted me about SGP...I have the info you requested.

Edit*** I know some of you have legit issues with Mark....I did not mentioned those issues because its not my place to talk about it....I am just talking about SGP in general....their doors are open and they are working on cars. I did not want people that are out of town to worry about them going out of business and leaving their cars stranded.

thought i mentioned this months ago?

bad experiences are taken as truth right off the bat, but it seems ppl need several levels of verification when a good comment is made about a shop. I dunno..

XKR...thanks for the verification. I'm sure others might want a video and a notary present the next time you make a claim that SGP is and has been working. LOL

EDIT: I see first hand how much of a personal life mark gives up to bust his *** at the shop and still can't believe some ppl bad mouth him.

I have new Pic's for CoachK....

I think its because everyone knows that I have nothing to gain by bashing or sucking up to SGP. I said Mark is a nice guy that knows alot about the VQ ...and thats it. A few member that could not get in touch with him PM'ed me and I copied the emails and gave it to Mark. Mark looked up the info and gave it to me without any problems.

Now things would be different if we were talking about FP and I came on here... everyone would demand pictures and notary paper work

word.

I'm sure other members here appreciate that. I know it can be frustrating not being able to get ahold of the shop that's working on your ride. I tell ppl they really need to see it for themselves. The volumn they do speaks loudly. And their customer service towards me has been top notch. You may have to wait, but its all worth it in the end.

One thing I see alot of is shop hopping. I've seen numerous cars (I won't mention names), that have been to 3-4 shops before SGP. This is not good practice when building a car. When I understand most ppl want the best deal, shop hopping does nothing but complicate the matter. Fingers get pointed all over the place. It never ends up how you want it.

If you plan on building your car and have faith in your shop, patronize them by having them do all the work. Top to bottom....no more finger pointing. If only one person/shop works on your car, the blame can't be shifted. Having said that, SGP has taken care of EVERYTHING. Any issue, Mark hooks it up. PERIOD. Not trying to nut-hug...just bringing some things to light that ppl should think about when building a car.

Well I sent an email to Mark as it sounds like my tranny was done. I'm also throwing in an order for some additional parts if he replies. I'll update on results. This thread is dragging but I think all of us who had delays owe it to shop and forum to report results that are hopefully good...

Default perception IS reality...DIY!

Pickd up car last Nov from the "MAN" MARK....oh the promises!!!
Car is OK...has not blown up. But the quality of the job/build...OMG Crap/crap/worse than crap... Quality of work Hideous, hideous... car in my garage completely torn up...I pulled out all wire harnesses (found loose wires, cut wire, wire that go nowhere...), all turbo cooling lines, oil lines, turbo piping...everything out. I am going to rebuild the thing myself.

The latest thing I just found today along with a whole list of substandard ghetto sssht is that my alternator was only held on by the front bracket...the main bolt was never tightened..it stuck out 1/2".

"Tune" was too rich. Went to Forged a month ago and got 50 more whp just from leaning it out a little.

Good Luck Mark...its hard being a GOD...especially when u cant deliver.

Default PIC's

Let me see what I can do picture wise. I'm an old guy who's a little computer challenged. I spend all my free time learning and researching my car so I can redo it myself. In my mind after what Mark promised I expected OEM quailty or better...this is not what I got. Archie who did most of the work on my car quit a week after I picked it up in Nov. 07... he was very unhappy working for mark and in subsequent conversations he caused me to question everything Mark represented..including who actually built my A/Trans($5K)... After Archie left to my knowledge SGP had no trained techs working there...what does tell you.

A little update...

I have been getting alot of PM's from some members lately because of my post about SGP... Let me say it again...I am not taking Mark's side or the side of SGP customers that feel they have been wronged

I am only posting Marks side of the story because Mark does not post anymore for whatever reason....

I also recieved a PM from someone ( whose name I will not mention ) and that PM was shocking to say the least That member will be posting some info that will remind you of another big drama

Because of the PM I recieved...I will be suspending ALL Recon I am staying out of this one.
