Like I said. I am sorry that members have to go through this though, but since my build is stalled waiting on parts.

Default My SGP experience

I bought some Apexi coilovers from a member on this forum and about 10 months later blew one of the dampners. SGP is an authorized dealer for Apexi so I took my dampner to them. One of the guys (I think it was Eric) told me I had to buy a shorter dampner while mine was shipped of, so he sold me one from NAPA for $50. I took it home and compared it to the factory dampner and it was the SAME thing. Drove back over there and demanded my money back, and they did. Meanwhile, they said it would be 2-4 weeks on the dampner to come back from Apexi. After a month I call and call and call. Always primised I would get a return call but never did. I spoke with Eric, Mark, Tonya, and another temp girl hired to answer the phones. Long story but the dampner had sat behind the register for a month and was never sent off. No big deal...just get it done right. I am going to skip most of the details that follow just to save time, but I had to take it upon myself to call Apexi Integration (spoke with Darren) to get down to the bottom of all the mess. SGP never followed up with Apexi to see what the status was. BTW, it was almost FIVE MONTHS till I got a new dampner. The situation has been resolved but I think it is fair to let anyone who is thinking of doing business with SGP to consider their past performance. They were in no way concerned for handling my transaction professionally. In Marks defense, he is a nice guy, appologized and didnt charge me for shipping the dampner to Apexi, but I still have a bad taste in my mouth and will not return.

If you live in the Houston area, love to be around cars and car enthusiasts, and have good business acumen, you should apply at SGP. As it was said earlier in this thread, they need a good operations manager.

Hope this helps

I've always been told by people that SGP takes forever. I remeber when I was talking to t32gzz about his build and SGP he had nothing but great things to say. But he did say it took forever. And this was 2yrs ago! Seems like nothings really changed.

Unless you are an SGP customer past, present, future let's please keep the speculative, "i heard", "i thought/think", and worthless comments out. If shait gonna hit the fan let it be but there is no need to comment on this unless you are entertaining doing business with SGP or waiting on business with SGP please. Not trying to get bossy but some of us are getting emailed on updates here and it's lame to login for an important update from somebody and find "i heard they...." Thanks.

Hellos and Salutations,

As the Chief Operating Officer at Intense, and wholesale customer of SGP, I have a vested interest in this thread, and the business ethics, etc, of Mark. We ordered an "SGP" built auto trans VQ35de for a high class, stand-up, project customer. Before we moved, in late October, we requested that Mark hold off on the shipping (he had advised us that it was ready to ship at that time) until we got squared away with the move-in at the new place.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, where we tried tirelessly to contact him on his work telephone number. The voice mail box is full, which isn't abnormal (ours got overrun daily until we finally axed it when we moved into our new shop). I called a friend of mine who is personal friends with Mark, asking him to contact Mark. His cell was turned off, so he emailed him through the sgpracing.com store, and got a call from the shop number the next day. He told me that he explained to Mark that we needed our trans. Mark then told my friend that he would contact us.

Being proactive about it, I went ahead and emailed Mark at his personal email, last week, and still have not received an answer. I've tried other "industry" peeps, but to no avail.

Sooo, Mark, if you're reading this, please call me:

480.635.8888

Brian V, in AZ has my cell#, if you would like to call me after hours. I've advised him that it's ok for him to give you my number.

Last, whether the trans is ready or not, we can send our trucking company to pick it up w/ the quickness (on our dime). I have held off on posting business on this thread, but at this time, w/ no communications from Mark, I have no other recourse..

Thanks in advance,

Darren

Because I went and got some of this info that was requested ( which turned out to be incorrect) all I can say is..I repeated exactly what I was told. I am in no way covering for Mark in any of the emails that I have sent... I have chose to stay in the middle and not pick sides on this one.

I recieved a few very disturbing pm's/emails that knocked me back in my seat....I was asked not to post them because of pending actions...they would rather do it themselves...I will honor their request.

I wish everyone involved the best of luck in resolving all this...and I wash my hands of all this.....I tried to get everything you all requested about your car/parts...and I always take what people tells me as the truth until proven other wise

For those of you that expressed anger thinking that I am for or against Mark...believe what you want...I am neutral....I will not pick sides on this one.... I am out

Those that are sending you critical PM's need to step back and STFU.

All you have done is try to get updates and info for members who have cars or transmissions at SGP that they are waiting for... AT OUR REQUEST BECAUSE WE OR OUR SHOPS CAN'T GET ANY COMMUNICATION DIRECTLY FROM SGP/MARK. It's obvious in your posts that you haven't taken sides here and are just trying to help fellow members. Your help is greatly appreciated by me and others who are worried/concerned SGP customers. Thank you Mike.
