The only reason the torque was off on the 15 lb run was because there was tire spinning. I hope this settles some issues!!

'Grats! One point...

Just an observation... isn't the AFR a bit high for a daily driven mildly boosted car? Looks like the AFRs are reaching high 11's and even over 12's at the far end of the spectrum... not sure if that's a good thing to do.

Sure, leaning out probably spits out more power than usual, but not sure if the expense of motor longetivity is worth the cost.

Not secret, Mr. S says its a 10 guage wire (with chassis ground) and 750cc injectors =>> 750rwhp.

Not in my car this wire and pump voltage will live,... lol.

At this point it may be best for scott to delay, delay, delay (and keep his customers hanging) so as to let this thread die down before new information is made public.

Note: By default, scott is in control of the direction of this thread.
Oh I definitely understand. I was just stating the eagerness to learn of the new information coming down the pike. If Scott continues to do "build-ups" i'm sure the news feed will keep coming regardless lol. All I have to do is click on the FI section every now and then for the latest news.

Default Boring Technical Post, no video - lol

I asked a friend of mine if he was aware of an accurate, concise technical write-up for sizing a fuel pump on a forced induction motor. He sent me the attached memo. Not sure who wrote it, but several who have read it have given it a thumbs up for "basic" accuracy.

I will give it a grade of B-, only because it does not speak to estimating pumping losses in particular, the evils of running pumps and injectors at max capacity or properly sizing injectors for a given HP goal,... I think Discom provided a link to the RC engineering site which did an excellent job of that.

What I liked specifically about this one write-up are the tables at the end with specs on the 255 (both regular and high-pressure version) walbro's measured at 12V and 13.5V. The tables even include current draw from the pump.

The "best" a wire upgrade could acheive would be 13.5V at the pump without adding a boost controlled DC/DC voltage source. Working the max theoretical hp backwards via the memo example as a guide, it provides a clearer picture as to what a single walbro can actually support, even at the increased 13.5V pumping voltage with a wire gauge increase and strapping the pump voltage return to chassis ground. Well, its no where close to 750rwhp,...

Also, I was warned by a couple of local engine builders I know, that the "math" is generally much more forgiving than the real world so in reality the crank-hp on a single walbro would be much less than this memo would support. I have been told to degrade the "math" up to 30% for safety and variations in pump efficiency. That safety factor obviously presses even harder against the "+750 rwhp on a single wablro with 750cc injector claim".

I remember someone ( I think it was Discom ) asking about specs for the 255 walbro somewhere in this thread, can't remember who. Maybe this will help answer some questions for others.

If someone finds a better write-up feel free to post it or to shoot holes in this one.

Now, back to the movies.
