I am having it done at a shop here in Houston.....Its first going to be done in some form of plastic ( I am sure thats not what its called) then copied in CF.....The problem is the muffler section...

I am going to put it out there because I know you have taken your car above 180...and I was worried about you doing that with out an undertray and getting an air bubble under the car... The muffler will be relocated to the center of the car close to the transmision....The pipes will be routed through the lower part of the rear bumper at both side of the license plate. This will allow the under tray to be flatter. I want them to try to do it with the muffler in the position it is now....but the other way is just a backup.

I started as an Aeronautical Engineering major, but switched to EE when the aerospace industry collapsed in So. Ca. a number of years ago. With a proper diffuser setup (not the standard Infiniti setup), you can get a h@ll of alot of downforce, even in the rear. I already have a conceptual design I have been speaking with Paul at New Wave Fabrication about, but that is using aluminum. I would love to get some info on your carbon fiber setup.

No problem with the VDC?

How about going widebody, allowing you to run 285s & 345s?

^wider tires don't give you any advantage in a high speed run like this, they actaully slow you down to to aerodynamic drag

I haven't put together any drawings yet, but I can explain what I am looking at doing.

I'm not sure if it will work for Mike in his case because it will change the look of the rear end. But I think he has a different front bumper anyway, so maybe it would work. Nonetheless, if we get enough people interested, maybe we can work with somebody to do a group buy and get something at a reasonable price.

For a one off, aluminum will be cheaper, which is what I have been looking into. But if we have enough volume, perhaps we can get somebody to do it in carbon fiber for a reasonable price. The only thing is my car is a G and your's is a Z, so there will be some differences. That said, the first manufacturer to get something out there could do pretty well for themselves.

PM me with your tel. no. and I'll give you a call when I get a chance. I'm running late for a Panthers game right now, so I have to run.

I realize that, I'm just trying to think of more mods Mike can spend his money on.

I see.....

My design is based on relocating my muffler...which I am not crazy about.....I am willing to look at other ideas.

Alberto would be number 3 that would be interested. Aluminum is not something I would want to use....but I am listening.
