Rich, remember the added 0.5L is a 14.29% increase. E.q., add 14.29% to 500 ft-lb and you get to 572 ft-lb. That's why the 4.2L build is the closest to Mike's build.

Here is a link to a 4.2L motor with a twin Greddy kit, and I believe that this one is with the TD05-18G's. It doesn't say for sure, but I beleive that Greddy started coming out with the 20G kits for our cars after this one was built.

https://my350z.com/forum/shop-builds...tt-13-psi.html

This guy had over 600 ft-lb of torque at about 3700 rpm, and around 675 ft-lb of torque at 4000 rpm, all from those tiny Greddys.

EDIT: If you have time to play with it today, it would be nice to see Mike's dyno compared to this one. The size of the TD05 turbine is pretty comparable to the GT30 turbine, and the 18G compressor is 68 mm vs 71mm for the GT3071.

When my car is done, that will be a good platform to use for comparing the turbos (Mike's GT3582 0.76 A/R turbos to my GT3071 0.64 A/R turbos). I have a 4.0L stroker motor being built, and I have the Cosworth plenum.

Thanks for posting Info for me Danny...

Jorge,Jeremy , Raj, Cass.,Str8, James...Gord...Terry..I apologize if I missed a post above.... You know...iPhone

This really hit me hard....Jeremy could tell. I know Eric said the clutch would not hold as did Carbonetics.... But 655 dd or 745dj ... Come on now!!!!! If it had made only 750 on DD ... I would not be so angry now.... I could have taken it over to the DJ and got my numbers.....but this sucks.

Sharif and Jeremy felt that it's because of the way the turbo's hit that kills the clutch. I understand... I do remember how the 850bb build power to 700dd.....it came on slow.

Raj is correct..... Sharif felt that it was slipping in the first C16 run..... Because if you look at the run that dropped off... You can see it grabbed better. There are other runs that you can see that the line was climbing straight up but completely slipped. That's when Sharif felt traction was the issue and he kept playing with the straps. That did not work .. So he asked Jeremy to watch the wheels. Even little me could tell I was not going to be that lucky and it being the traction.

Sharif feels that it will slip easier on the street ... So I am trapped... GTM is a dealer of OS Quad..... And I KNOW THAT SAM WILL STAND BEHIND THE OS TO HOLD WHATS STATED ON THE ADD.... Right Sam...right Sam!!!! I will be calling about my 1% above cost

So I have not given up as yet...I will keep you guys updated.... Thanks for all the support.. Pm's ..advise... Could not .. Would not have done it with out you guys.

Someone asked about RPM limit...he was running it to 7k..... When it leaves FP... It will be set at 7500... I don't have to tell you guys ... You know Sharif was very very conservative with these runs. A 4.0 Non sleeve is enough to stress any tuner.

Mike, since you are getting a new clutch, are you going back to your original goal of 1000 whp?

For sure....I am going to call Sam today.

BTW....I learned something about the iPhone.... If you expose it to extreme noise... It damages the mic/speaker.... The sound on my video does not work anymore.... I guess I stood too close

Going with a clutch like that was not an easy choice.... The statements that I made to the magazine was that it would be a 1000whp car that was be very streetsble until the boost came on. Now how am I going to look when this editor jumps in and can't drive it??? This is why the clutch failing kills that claim.

Mike, why did Sharif say that the clutch would slip more on the street?

I dont remember where that 4.2L 20g DD dyno came from.
But heres the GTM one with 4.2L 18g at 13psi on straight pump gas. Again
used the 10% correction to rep DD numbers from DJ. BUt close enough
** you can realy notice the big right shift in power from the longer spool of the bigger turbos, but also the 18g struggling with the airflow (150 ft-lbs drop by redline).

The dyno is about the most abusive thing for a clutch....it will slip on dyno long before it will on street (plus on street you are more likely to spin tires first...even at crazy speeds).

Clutch options are getting limited up there.....only proven 2 at really high power on VQ are tilton and RPS twin......I can't imagine a quad disc clutch would be driver friendly......

keep it up Mike, you'll get there....i'm in clutch mode these days too lol (and I'm not going carbonetics after this thread lol)

.

....

About the clutch on street bs dyno.... I feel it will slip at the is psi level while pushing the 170mph..... The wind should be an issue.... I could be wrong...I am sure if I baby it it would climb.

just buy all the performance clutches that claim to work and have sharif start swapping them out until one of them holds up. Then the ones that only hold a measly 700hp can be donated to the rest of us forum members.....YAY! lol

The Carbonetics can be rebuilt right? The twin disc I have should hold the ~500tq I'm putting down, so I may just rebuild and upgrade to the triple disc when I do. A streetable clutch is a must, I'm with Mike on this for sure, we want the best of both worlds.

Tom - my car held on the dyno, but slips on the street only with the meth on. When the power comes on hard it just revs and backfires real bad till I shift. It feels like wheelspin, but the car doesn't feel like its pulling at all, it could be just cool roads too I guess.

A thanks to Mike for once again using his wallet and time to do research that benefits the community as a whole

Well if Mike actually reached his numbers then this thread might die down and we would all be bored. Just kidding Mike, I am sure between you and Sharif you will get there.

Mine had issues when going through tq peak AND hp peak...(so a pull from lower rpms through redline in like 4th gear).....well now its completely toasted anyway lol.

quad disc clutches on street cars lol......thats what top fuel cars run lol (and now 5 disc too).

again I'd go to SP or Injected and talk to them.....they are the ones that have made the power, and put it to the ground so they know what they are talking about.

Looks very similar to my curve as well....of course mine needs more boost due to smaller turbos, stock cams, and less displacement....but numbers fall similarly in line....(although stock cams keep that meaty tq early and mid)

if its drives anything like mine, you'll be very happy lol
