A lot of the kits, APS TT, GReddy, JWT, probably others i am forgetting, return the oil either into a spacer, or lower oil pan replacement. This is in my opinion not ideal since it is below the oil level, making gravity draining of the oil from the turbo more difficult. The GTM, Turbonetics and Vortech SC systems all return into the upper pan. This will allow an unrestricted drain from the turbo into the pan. There are yet a few other kits, APS single, and i believe speed force racing, that use a scavenge pump because the turbo are to low to allow any sprt of gravity drain back. If i were doing a custom set up i would follow the GTM/Turbonetics/Vortech method. You should be able to find online instructions on most if not all of those to get an idea of where they drill and tap the pan.

I went into the spacer, I didn't like the idea of drilling my block.

My is in the upper oil pan, above the oil line level when at max:

This is a remote mount turbo setup with a scavenge pump.

Mine goes into the fitting on the pe oil pan with my vortech kit. It's still going to gravity drain back to the oil pan but you will always have a level of oil in your return oil line. It's never going to see pressure as long as your oil return nipple on your supercharger/turbo is higher than the oil level in the pan.

^^

What you doing hiding here at the Z forums huh? lol working on something classified for the maxima peeps lol. If this is going to be a RMT, you can return the oil through an oil cap, just get yourself a metal cap (they sell em at discount), drill/tap and put a barb on it. Thats how iv had it for 2+ years, no issues at all. Obviously this is, if your using a scavenge pump. If not, and then i strongly recommend tapping the upper pan, less restriction as oil will just fall right in. lower pan, there's oil sitting down there, might work but why have to deal with the possibility of it backing up on you.
