Power steering line cracked next to turbo:(
Ok so I come home the other night and notice the steering is getting funky. I look under the car and find red fluid on then ground, my buddy teddy said the PS tank is bone dry.
So we get it on a lift tonight, and sure enough the metal line that runs right next to the turbo, the black one somehow has been rubbing against it to the point where it just cracked and is leaking right down the passenger side of the car.
So.... i'm wondering who else has hadn this problem?.... What did you do to fix/ prevent it again? Also does anyone know if i cann just buy that one line or do I have to purchase more then whats needed like alot of other stupid things that parts get sold with?
So first off I have to replace this piece, anyone have any tips as to helping prevent this again...
Once again thanks in adavance guys for your help, got the twins in the car and much happier that this is the worst thats happened yet.

You can definitely get a replacement line. There is definitely NO aftermarket option for this piece I have to admit. I succeeded in helping a friend modify his to better accommodate a Turbonetics in his 2006 model Z and I have to tell you it was impossible to find an aftermarket fitting to work. It simply is not made by anyone other than Nissan. We took the broken line and chopped off the metal tubing and welded on a fitting to make it lower profile. We then used a 3-an line in between. Worked out well, but was totally custom.
Fear not my friend, the replacement PS line is not expensive. The short one is about $25 from the dealer IIRC.
Good Luck.
You can also take a moment to alter the line slightly to better suit your needs. Just don't go crazy or you will create a crease or fold the hard metal line and you will be right back to square one.

Thanks guys, thats what i'll do get a new one and bend it down. I bent it down when i did the install, but apparently just not enough... If it happens again i'll go to the rubber. $25 won't break the bank either, thank god its not one of those ridiculous parts.
Thanks guys for the help!!
