unless people respond with blackstone reports over several oil changes, its all personal opinion and essentially useless.

This is all I run in our high rpm race bikes so that's all i've used in my g35. I figure if it's good enough for a 19k rpm inline 4 that stays over 16k for an entire hour of racing then it's good stuff.

My uncles use it in the semi's we have for the farm. A couple of those engines are well over their 1 million mile marker.

figured i might chime in coming from the v8 world, if you buy flat tappet cams for old school v8s like the chevy 351 or ford 302 the info that comes with ALL of them is to use rotella t6 for the initial break in period of an engine. the lunati voodoo cam i most recently had in my camaro drag car went on to say that the reason this oil is suggested is due to it being a diesel oil and as such retains the zinc additive that regular oils leave out due to roller cams and overhead cams nowadays, they also recommend if using standard motor oils to add one bottle of gm engine break in additive pt#88862586. this might be some problems with early bearing failure, i only ran rotella due to it being a bit cheaper then royal purple+ additive. never had a problem eather. this was all addressed years ago when zinc was taken out of oils for emissions reasons and was causing flat tappet cam failures for a couple years, with high boost high horsepower vq's it is highly likely that the rod bearings are encountering forces similar to what was causing flat tappet cams to fail

I used mobil 1 15-50 on two (2) 4g63 engines. (Those are DSM engines for all you children) BOTH had spun bearings as cause of engine failure. Both were near complete losses...

Using castrol syntec 5-30 per factory specs. 32K on Z and feels like it's still brand new...

another interesting thing to note is cadillac exclusively uses mobil one synthetic in there engines(i know becuase i worked at a cadillac pontiac gmc dealership.) we had about 6 or 7 cadillacs for every 1 pontiac or gmc, about 60 or 70 percent of them where for oil consumption, valvetrain failure or spun bearings, in a years time we replaced about 50 engines and where only a small-medium sized dealership.(i dont have proof we replaced em i dont work there anymore can believe me or not) with all types of engines having trouble with mobile one mayby it really is bad and just a few people dont have trouble with it.

EDIT: seems that rotilla changed there formula while i was working at the dealership and eos was discountinued, we just got lucky with pleanty of it being on the shelves. however comp cams makes a supplement thats essentially the same thing i have to look it up on summit, im not gona be putting a new engine in until 2012 but ill be trying it when i get back from that deployment. i really do think the problems might be high pressures on the bearings from high horsepower numbers. anyone seen funny car or top fuel bearings after a single run? however in the end this is all a educated guess at best but the worst these products will do is cost a few bucks =/ worth a try imo

Building my block soon.. i'm on a vortech sc.

-Wiseco pistons - 8.8:1 cr, 96mm
-Eagle rods
-ARP headstuds- L19
-ARP main bolts
-HKS headgaskets, 97mm
-Cosworth bearings - standard size
-Pathfinder cooling mod
-Tomei 264 cams
-Revup oil pump

my engine is very weak since i got it, it produced 210whp stock run on DJ. hope this fixes the low power.

i'm going oversized pistons, oversize bore.

earlier on stock, i've done compression test, all cylinders were in 220 range.

what else has to be checked if i'm building the engine?

I don't think 8.8:1 is the best choice with vortech sc. try something above 10:1cr.

Completely agree. Less than stock CR is a waste on a normal Vortech. Even with aT-trim IMO.

i spoke to my tuner about it, and he said i shouldn't be going with higher cr because of the fuel available to us + he couldn't adjust timing much with my setup.

i'm on 2.87 pulley, and soon will have the blower upgraded with 928 impeller + upgrade the cog pulley to 34/28T.

a friend of mine with the same cr is producing 455whp on DJ.

^what kind of fuel do you guys have there? any e85 in your area? i also agree on a stock-ish compression ratio. torque will be up as well.

I think you have in Bahrain: 91 and 95 (RON) which equals to USA 89, and (90–91) AKI octane.

And your using Haltech?right? So,he has the full control of the timing and fuel!!

we have 93 and 91, but that's not what we're getting at the station. every car is suffering from the fuel we got. even fuel in KSA is much cleaner.

yes i'm using haltech, but he couldn't pull much timing due to hearing some knock, so he had to play it safe.

now when i decided to build, i informed the tuner that i'm going with 11cr, he advised me not to, because we were seeing knock on stock cr with our fuel.

Higher cr + low oct fuel = engine taking a crap.
