I purchased this off of Danny and it rattles like hell. I just had it installed today. Dan sent it to SP to have it checked out and it was told to me that everything is fine.

It rattles so loud it sounds like ball bearings are in the exhaust. I went under the car while it was idling. I tightened it all the way up and tried different tightness of the adjustment rod. It's not flapping open and closed, the flapper is rattling side to side. If i put my finger against the flapper arm it stops rattling. it's being held completely closed with no motion except the side to side motion. I've worked on it for 3 hours trying to get it to stop rattling. This CANNOT be normal. There is no way all the supra guys are driving around with this rattle that is louder than my engine cruising down the road. It sounds like i'm dragging an exhaust pipe.

Ugh... hurts to think about. Anyone else figure this out in the last year and a half? Not being sarcastic... just wondering if this is a common problem and guys just learned to live with it, or pitch it.

On the surface it sounds impressive... or moreover looks impressive. I wouldn't be prepared to make that sacrifice if the cost was a cheap sounding rattle. Hello WM.

I thought about throwing one of these in, but I don't need any more noises coming from the car... **** will have me going crazy thinking something new is breaking!

In for fix?

Yeah, no kidding. Every different smell, noise, and fluid drip makes my wallet hurt in anticipation...

It was checked out at SP and they said everything was fine with it and send it to me.

I strongly think something has to be wrong because i've been searching all the other forums for users and so far not a single person admitted to having a rattle coming from their valve. Supra and evo guys both. I definitely am not being **** about it and they have a rattle but just don't notice it. When i got home my room mate was in the garage and the first thing he said was "what's wrong with your engine" because it's that loud. I should never hear something rattling while driving 65mph on the interstate with the windows up.

mine just leaks, so you get the tapping exhaust leak sound when the windows are up. I thought my headers were leaking but did smoke test and it was just the cutout.

I ignore it now and dont even notice it.

If yours is that bad, prolly just sell and get a QTP. Rcdash has those on his car and they are nice. Plus they are the same flange, so it will bolt right up.

ya, but this 359$ part should work.

and no, i've been under the car, it's not leaking a single bit so it's not exhaust tap. The flapper is rattling SIDE TO SIDE, instead of open and closed. It seems there might be a spacer or washers or something that takes up that slack missing. if you grab the arm on the side of the valve it can be moved side to side 1/4" which seems like a ton of play to me.

im' going to send you a sound clip via email rich. you can't believe how bad this is. Like, this is louder than engine and road noise at 70mph 3k rpms.
