bad engines happen, that's why he has a warranty. You can get a bad engine build from any shop. Sometimes it just happens no matter how good the builder is.
Ok.. here is an update for you guys.
Haltech and RFS got installed 2 days back, and yesterday i got the car tuned..
Being cautious and looking for reliability in this weather (110F), we got it upto 304whp on 7psi.
i'll do another tune in winter and try to adjust the timing to get a better outcome.
I'm not fully satisfied with the outcome, but i love the G power!..

Or do a tune now with water/meth or pure water injection
bigger intercooler to keep intake temps down. vortech intercooler is bad.
that or you can add meth.
and since you're only at 7psi you can go to a smaller pulley to up the boost.
304hp isn't bad. that's about a 40-50 hp gain for 7psi. Not bad at all for 110* temps outside.

its silly just adding parts without even knowing if you need them.
at the power, that IC is perfectly capable. Spearco rates it to 500whp.
your timing might be too conservative, your AFR might be too rich, your exhaust might be too restrictive.
Unless you have AIT logs showing 50-70*+ over ambient at WOT, i'd focus on other things.

I'm already on 2.87" pulley..

my base dyno was 209whp on DJ, so that's about 95whp increase on 7psi.

again, true about the IC being perfectly capable, as it's rated to 400-500whp, but having a bigger mass, can lead to better cooling (could be the other way around, because it depends on the core design itself).
timing is too conservative, AFR is too rich and exhaust is restrictive.. all of this is true.
with meth, i can at least adjust the timing and get better results. and i'm planning to fix my exhaust (replace the HFC and fix the H-pipe).
my friend's Z produces more than 420whp @ 12psi in cool weather (that's 70F), but in the summer, he loses about 3psi! it goes to 9psi @ 6500rpm.
IMO, better safe than sorry.

no idea about the BHP.
true, the pulley should give me 10+, but as i stated in the post above "my friend's Z produces more than 420whp @ 12psi in cool weather (that's 70F), but in the summer, he loses about 3psi! it goes to 9psi @ 6500rpm."
so, that might be what's happening to my car now.
i don't think it's a belt slip, and i'll try to post the dyno sheet (i don't have a boost graph).

FWIW, I switched out my Vortech intercooler to a cheap larger ebay core and gained 35whp at 367whp on a 5AT.
Thanks bro...

so, the question then is, what are the factors that would make u lose psi (boost)?
1-boost leak
2-belt slip
3-blower?
should i try to tighten the belt? get another tune after that?

Again. Too tighted belt can break down the road. Which that happend to me on highway.
When I had my car in TX, it usually hit over 100 degree here in summer. I saw over 10psi easy with 2.87 pulley and same IC that everyone has. No prob.

Btw, I read thru other forum other day. Here is one guy said how he check belt slip.
Mark line on belt/pulley and go full run and see if that mark isn't line up after pull. If its not line up, u know its belt slip.
Sounds like it will work. Haha
