Thats what I was told about my crank from BC. I got it 4 months later. I'd take that 8-10 weeks with a grain of salt. Better yet, just buy a different brand.

The problem is that I already have 4 rods here.
I will look for somthing else, maybe GTM, since carillo is too much $.

order any set of rods. pauter makes strong rods and they aren't bad for cost.

sell the other BC's and buy a whole new set of something from someone else besides GTM. With what you have gone through i'm shocked you keep dealing with them.

The only aftermarkit rods available for the HR is BC, Carillo and I think GTM.

Carillo is for $1500, which is half the price of an IPP Shortblock. lol.

so sell your block and get an IPP shortblock.

i didn't think the HR engine was that much different that the rods would have been changed (other than strengthening them).

Update:

The car started just like stock and everything is fine so far (except for minor things).

Will pick it up tomorrow hopefully.

I really hope to have a better luck with this engine.

Update.

Yesterday I took the car to the car wash and it was fine, I started the car after the wash and the car sounded like a LS1 running long headers and without a cat-back..WTF

The driver's side exhaust manifold apparently broke. (or maybe both dunno yet)

Apparently some water reached the exhaust manifold when it was hot!!

I'm still breaking in the engine so there was no boost when I drove the car to the car wash, so the turbos/exhaust manifolds shouldn't reached a really high temperature!!

Fwck my luck.

WTF? You have a hood right? I have no idea what happened in this thread. It sounds like you went from a blown stock motor to a blown built motor given that you have spare rods? Then I remember you told George you were on your 4th motor or was that someone else? Jeez. Hope things turn around for you.

Good luck man!

LAMO at having a hood.

Stock engine running 8.5psi.. kaboom for some weird reason!! after 5k mile.
IPP short block.. spun a bearing!! after 3k mile.
IPP short block with new oil pump, bearings, etc... hydro-locked in about 15'' water!! after a week (the air filters in the GTM HR kit sets low, right behind the front bumper) and that combined with my luck

Now on the fourth engine with new rods set (carrillo's), oil pump, bearings.

And I can go on and on about a whole other things that failed/keep failing in the car.

first: why were you in 15" of water? this isn't a stomper truck!

second: i'm pretty sure water getting on the headers is not causing your problem. if it sounds weird it's probably misfiring. Did you spray water on the engine? it could have gotten into some electrical areas.

Wait a day before panicing. When I used to have an integra and I would spray it down at the hand wash it would always run rough for a day and then the water would evaporate and it would be fine in the morning if it didn't rain over night (most likely not an issue for you).

Sorry for your luck, I know how you feel. Can you see a crack in the header or does it just sound bad?

I used to drive on the same road everyday for work, but that day the heavy rain from the day before made a new big pothole that I didn't know of.

Its not misfiring, we found a crack on one of the exhaust manifolds, but we need to get them off the car to examine them both properly.
