Default going F/i with high miles

what do you guys think of going F/i with over 100K miles?

i understand that i would need a new clutch and a good tune at the least but what else??

im trying to decide if i want to buy some bolt ons or just save up and get a used single turbo kit here on the forums.

i am in automotive technology and would do the install myself but obviously pay for a good tune.

this is an 03 enthusiast with 101K miles probably about 110 when i would get the kit

thanks

i wouldnt really want more than about 360 to the wheels. i think that would be fairly safe with this kit, and it would be plenty fast for me

Wouldnt' try it on a stock block unless you rebuild it.

I would search because it has been discussed so many times. There a noob threads for questions like "what else will I need" or "what is better".

Compression and leakdown test first and foremost then I'd worry about everything else

For some reason people fear the 100K mile mark as if everything collapses after it. I've boosted several 100K+ cars before with zero issues and my G has 85K miles and it's been running strong. Heck...even my near stock 85K mile auto tranny has been running strong with 400whp.

90% is in the tune, 10% is you luck...lol.

as mentioned...do a compression and leakdown test, and once those come back as good to go, your engine will last only as long as your tune allows for. much to that.

(and if the compression and/or leakdown don't come back as good to go, then for the sake of all that is sane in this world, don't boost it till you rebuild)

Build it for the turbo. Add the juice. Stir some air up.
