Default Piping questions

I already know i'm going to get flamed for this, but does anybody know the quality of ebay pipeing for a DIY turbo install?

I'm just looking for pipeing and quite frankly 3000$ for just the pipeing out of a namebrand turbo kit is something I can't frankly wrap my head around. I'd rather take a welding class and make that damn pipeing myself honestly at this point.

But just curious.

^+1 Buyer be ware, you get what you pay for. I would rather bone up the money once for something that is higher quality and made by someone that will stand behind their product than get the D from a no name brand and end up buying it over...

OP - If you are looking for something specific and don't want to pay for a kit (best way to go), try sending a PM to Boosted Performance (Sasha) and he may be able to get you what you need for a reasonable price. His work is top notch but you may have to wait for him to have a bit of a production lull over the winter.

Or you can just go to the local muffler shop and pay them to bend some pipes for you, but without the bead roll on the ends you will just blow off couplers.

I guess this is a function of the Z getting less expensive to own. It used to be you had to have the $$$$ to do F/I right. Now people are trying to just throw any random piece of trash on the car and call it F/I

Just a heads up, if you have never welded aluminum or done any pipe fitting you are going to be fighting an up hill battle making it all fit in the confined space of the z bay.

+1, Aluminum is a PITA if you've never done it...

realistically you can just use pre-bent stuff and then silicone couplers. or just make the cold side outta mild steel.

I guess it all depends on how much your time is worth. You could definitely do a rear mount for pretty cheap with not much fab skills.

As for charge/intercooler piping, you'll be fine with ebay kits. Worse case you get two kits ($65-$150/each). Exhaust piping, thats another story, you can get quotes from local muffler shops that do mandrel bends.

With just one ebay piping kit I did my whole rear mount setup on my maxima.

If you have 40K for a Nismo then why even look at ebay for anything? The Nismo edition is the grand daddy of 350's and to basterdize with a ebay kit is laughable even it fit and actually worked. There are a few proven options for under 5K.

It's his car, let him do what he wants. Who knows it may even work. If not go buy one of the kits.

Stop always putting people down for trying something different

Just like a bunch of EIB badge protectors if you ask me.

Was going to post something similar. Not all but alot of the time those with money are followers and just buy what the others with money buy, rather than being creative and come up with their own stuff.
