Great to see things continuing to move forward. I think I even recognize that pop machine in the background!

What's this porting and polishing of which you speak and why didn't I do that?! Rrrrr!

Ty sir! I'm excited its about wrapped up haven't gotten to drive it since march!
Polish Smothes out the area and port they grind it out a little bigger for increased flow on heads and lower plenum, u can polish throttle bodies and such and exhaust manifolds. It isn't to cheap though XD

twin pump....so nice! wiring was time consuming but not hard. I soldered all my connections so it took me a little longer than normal.

who makes 1400's? you won't need anything over 1000's unless you are doing e85

what's a hassle about the haltech? it's probably the simplest thing to tune i've come across. Tons of features, boost controller and widebands all in one with a datalogger. can't really get any simpler than that.

meant 1200's* was talking to the wife when i was typing lol. no plans for e85 seeing as its not readily available around here, planning on doing a c16 tune though and a pair of gt 35R's in the future maybe next winter. didnt think they 1000's would flow enough to do the job. Installing the haltech is what i was refering to as the hastle paying out the labor to have it put in and all the extra equipment that i already have aswell. already running a wideband gauge and have a boost controller, and one of the best osiris tuners in the country at the shop thats handling my build he feels comfortable with osiris for the set up were looking at and i trust him.

ic

well if you're closer to an osiris tuner then i would go that route. as for installing the haltech. with installing the dual widebands it took about 20 minutes total to have mine in and mounted with widebands in place. It's very simple. I had osiris and it annoyed me that i had to have that, then a boost controller then separate widebands and none of which connected all together in a program so i could tune. i had to log on one thing then open osiris to adjust. It was just a nightmare to tune that way for me personally. If you aren't planning on touching anything then the osiris will be fine because the tuner will have to deal with the headache

exactly my line of thinking lol hes a total of about 15 minuets from my house aswell and a great tuner (and one of the only people who tunes vqs around here too) so its kinda my only option anyways

If you are planning on 1200cc injectors with Osiris, you are in for a battle. If larger then 600cc I strongly advise Haltech, and if 800cc or larger I can promise you will be happier with Haltech. Also, keep low impedance and high impedance differences in mind if going with Osiris, whereas Haltech will gladly drive either style injector.

hmm, we were running 850s no problem before on my stock block set up cold start fired right up and idle/load were fine. only time where it wasn't getting along to well was the hot start, had to feather the throttle some.

Don't jinx it!!!

But the haltech math is interesting:

Uprev is 700 bucks out of the gate plus tuning it (let's call it 1000). Then there's the upgraded maf when you go anywhere near 400hp... So thats probably 500 if someone else installs it (sorry rounding a bit i dont remember what the device Costs). Then there's the installation and potential retune (depending on your order of doing things) then there's a cipher cable which is about 200. A nice to have, most will agree. And then we need a boost controller so assuming you go a decent route that's about 800 bucks for purchase and install.

Lo is a priceless commodity, no doubt about it. A magician as already described... But the haltech... Despite its daunting price tag... Is a compelling option especially as numbers start to creep into the 5-600s.

Uprev says they can tune cars up to 1200 hp- which is undoubtedly true... But as I'm learning there's a lot of extra equipment to purchase while youre at it.

I'm still pro uprev... But I'm "seeing" haltech a bit differently now. Provided of course that the guy working on it knows what he's about!
