it sucks cuz you obviously didnt use a pry bar on the flywheel. if they are that negligent with simple things, i can imagine they prolly dont give a **** about anything. good thing you didnt keep driving on it. who knows what woulda happened. Sure wouldnt wanna test the bellhousings scatter-shield abilities.

sounds like its all sorted now

Never thought it would be this fwcked up, so I didn't opened it up. Sorry my mistake

Loss of bottom end power.....ewwww
Pass on that. But if you were to go with bigger cams could you then push your engine more on the stock bottom end?
From what I've read (not too much) HR's can push out close to 500 on stock internals...?

i have a forged low compression bottom end now, it was making 530 on stock internals. went with a brian crower 4.07L stoker kit and upgraded fuel return and a twin pump, shooting for 650+ whp on new set up (itl be spooling fairly early with the bigger displacement and the turbo size should be full spool by 3500-3800 rpm)

Got ya...cant wait to see this beast when its done.
530 on stock block still seems crazy......was this a daily driver for you? Im concerned about runnin that much power to my hr on stock internals. However...i get the feeling that people blowin their engine are the ones goin to the track frequently and really goin hard on it....

not daily persay, but it saw atleast 200 miles a week, hard miles at that and was holding up fine, if its ur daily id leave it at 8 psi ( depending on ur tuner and dyno would be between 450-480 wheel)

No daily....i have 35000 miles on car and its not driven in winter. Id say i put only 5-6000 mi on per season. Couple times a week and the rest out joy ridin. Im def lookin for some more power and obvi
FI the way to go.
Just startin to read into this stuff...i got the basic idea based on others builds but still seems like there are mixed reviews on boostin a stock engine and it being a matter of time til it blows.
Realistically i think i wuld be happy with somthin in the 400-450 whp range. Going by ur numbers prior to this build that seems like it wuld be more on the conservative side.....

id look into the supercharger option if your looking to stay around or below 5, bit safer for the stock block and cheaper too!

Man! This was the toughest part for me... waiting for the block to return from the machine shop. I know those boys work fast when they have the parts they need... but it felt like forever.

Still learning lots from your thread though- you've definitely bumped it up a notch or two on my build but I'm also learning that I think I stopped at the right point for what I wanted.

Looking forward to seeing some progress pics!

Hmmmmm... if my experience is any indicator then I wouldn't be holding my breath. But, on the positive side I would also have the confidence to know that when the machine shop releases it that it's going to be done exactly the way it's supposed to be and will likely save you time in the long run. Andrew from Intec was saying that with many shops he's had to whittle away and dork around with stuff to make things fit properly- on mine he said it was exactly the way he needed it and it required no fiddling at all. He was very happy with it... I assume he's doing your block too? I get the impression he's very, very good at what he does... Is Mike still there? I'd heard some "things..."

Oooooh okay that explains it. I was expecting Mike to do my full build too- but the day I was there to pick up I met Andrew and he said he was the one who did the block... I figured Mike might have taken care of just about everything else... with Bobby.

The fact that I'm a DE explains why he was working on it and I get the impression he did an awesome job on it.

Thursday eh? Yes... Now we're talking! Might need to verify which Thursday

Hey thanks man... you know, I do get worked over every so often about having sedan style wheels on the coupe- and I do get razzed at work about driving my girlfriend's car ( sigh ) but hey- I like it too! Hey Eno, your girlfriend buy the car to match her lipstick... poke poke...

I wasn't sure what that part was in your hand... my first thought was that it was going to be some tail light extension or some other ridiculous thing and I was warming up my forehead for a mighty face palm but then I saw the following photo and I was emersed in relief.

Not going to lie- looks pretty slick from here. After the Quaife goes in I think the objective is going to be to clean up my paint and get into some of the finer details as well.

Eh you ever get that cruise control / uprev thing sorted out? I was reading a bit about it in the tuning section and they were talking about just flashing straight off a netbook / laptop... it's not on the fly but might be suitable for your purposes?

I also noticed that Seymore mentioned that uprev was working on a module that you can plug in to the OBD II connection- but that was a couple years ago so I'm doubtful that's ever gone anywhere.

Anyway, just checking...

nothing yet that i know of , the laptop option or getting a haltech(as much as i dont want to shell out for it) might have to if i wanna have a pump and a c16 tune. but we'll see i may be happy enough with the pump map for along while

Edit: forgot i facebooked uprev a couple months back and they didnt have anything in the works for it yet either : / according to them
