ATI V.P. claims procharger won at drag strip
"the local customer who has run the **** out of his car, and just had the car driven across the country to the Sport Z Shootout, here it won both the autocross and the drag testing"
That qoute is from another thread on this forum, started by a Vice President of ATI

Yeah, who cares... that was in a private email to a customer, you aren't supposed to plaster **** up all over the web and pick on 1 freakin word he used. Big woop. It wasn't a public message to begin with.

It was not private
It is posted on this forum. The point is, maybe not everyone here reads every word of every post, and might have wanted to know that. I found it interesting.
If you don't like my posts, just don't read my threads. Don't get on them to call me a trouble maker. GFY.

In one thread SportZ is getting reamed for NOT releasing results and here someone gets reamed for doing so. I wouldn't want to be a business owner of any kind on this forum. They just can't win I guess.
Max wrote somewhere that ATI had "a ringer" driving their car and used octane booster in the ATI Procharger car.
Does anyone know what the he11 he is talking about?

I am 12secZ I am XAM.
Bonz read the threads bro I think the statement is in another thread, don't third party talk me k bro?
The story goes like this, all cars did within 13.4-13.6 then the ATI Tech guy drove the ATI car and did a 13.1 so they think they "won."
All I am saying is that he should have drove all 3 cars to be fair not just the ATI car because he added in another variable, the driver. A BIG variable in fact. Also a witness says he used Octane Booster.
No mysteries or made up stuff, just stuff other posted.
Get your J$S installed yet? I wanna see how that goes for you!
Take Care.

Guys, if they did run octane booster, guess what...it generally does not increase hp. Using higher octane fuel without tuning to take advantage of it will decrease hp if anything. So if they did "cheat", it was certainly not to increase the hp.
It is possible that running higher octane could show an increase in hp in a situation where the engine is constantly running in a knock condition and pulling lots of timing. The octane would reduce or eliminate the knock and allow it to run properly with more timing, possibly increasing the performance. But, I don't think this is the situation because the stock ecu doesn't do the best job of keeping these engines alive when you have severe knock. If this car was having those issues, the engine would have likely been toast anyway.
I don't blame them for running it if they did. Why take a chance, any time you know you're going to be beating on your f/i car, its a good idea to run higher octane. It's like having a little more of a safety zone to run in. And if the car was tuned for 93 octane but had only 91 available, then they really didn't have a choice.

So, the actual owner of the ATI procharged car decided to take a run for fun in his Z and pulled a 13.1
I doubt the 13.1 will be included as part of the "official results" in the article because it was done with a different driver. The purpose of it being brought up was that the SC'd cars could pull good times, just not with the Sport Z Magazine driver.

I bet we could have seen some high 12's and more low 13's. I'm guessing the ATI rep only had 1 run at it, I'm sure he could have gotten into high 12's with a few attempts, plus being on 19's does hurt a little. I'm pretty dissapointed myself. You got a "professional" driver running mid 13's with these cars, then you got the ATI rep hitting almost a 13 flat. That's kinda sad. I think this whole event was BS from what I'm reading. Next time they need to get a real driver.
