"Monumentum" is out of business. Boosted Performance is your best bet for a DIY low budget ST build. PM BoostedPerformance. Also, add a trans cooler and skip the 3.9 gears. You may wish to read the sticky FI for noobs thread. Good luck.

Didn't see anything about them being out of business, the kit is still avail for purchase. I'll pm him and find out more on bp's st. Trans cooler is on my other list just forgot to include it, will edit. Everythin I've read so far suggests at least 3.5gears but they like the 3.9's for turbo setup. Or is it jus the lack of any real performance difference?

Thx. Sent him pm. If this post seems off I'm sorry, I've spent at least 60hrs+ reading forums trying to figure this out but keep running into out-dated information as is apparent by the monumentom bit. I'm just trying to move past this stonewall of information I've run into so I can learn more about this and don't waste 10-12k on a set-up that won't work or doesn't exist anymore after I bought half the stuff. Thank you for your help thus far.

List:
Monumentum st kit "if your power goal is around 410-600 whp then stick with it... it's a good quality kit. I was running that and I just switched to TT for more power.. I have it for sale by the way.
Borla td cat-back exhaust "not a good Idea since it's true duel, look for an exhaust that's not a true dual such as greddy TIC/SE, Nismo, and stuff like that"
Unorthodox pulley kit "if it's the stock crank size your ok, but if it's under-driven then stock is your only choice"
Jwt popcharger "don't need that.... almost all turbo kits comes with the intake and filter"
Transgo vb/shift kit
LSD w/ 3.9gears "why LSD.. if you already have the VLSD then no need for that.. your on 5AT so it's not a drift/autoX car it's a daily driven... your just wasting your money.."
and by the way yes... Momentum went out of business few months ago...

good luck on your build..

If your going to buy a new kit go with BP.....should be able to install it your self.

Used may seem like a good deal until you wind up with missing or broken pieces that take forever to source. Lizard seems like a good guy and is active on the forum so I would consider his momentum.

Personally i would consider MotorDyne (sp?) exhaust.

But the BIG question is who are you gonna get to tune it and how??

Also if you are having a shop install I would buy as much as possible from them. Issues ALWAYS come up and if it is the shop's product they are much kinder about labor rates dealing with said issue.

I'm not sure if BP has yet had a chance to fab up the AT version of his kit so we may be left wanting in that department. Not to speak on his behalf but I'm pretty sure that's the problem we're going to have turning to the obvious best option here.

All Thx for ur help so far. Talking to bp guy about the kit for a 5at so I should have more on that from him. I'll look more into exhausts to find something better but what is the problem with having a td exhaust? Haven't rly read anything bad about it except for the fab of a reverse y-pipe req'd. I want to keep the dual ends because I like the look don't know if that has an effect on the exhaust to purchase but will look more into this. I'll edit the lsd/gears n popcharger thx. The pulley kit is under-driven and I plan on keeping the engine stock but was thinkin of new rods jus for reliability n longevity. I'm moving in a couple months back to md so I was going to look into who to install n tune there but I wanted to have some knowledge of what I want and then purchase thro them. Thx for the help thus far. Rly do appreciative it.

Is sound a big thing for you? The motordyne is going to be loud, Borla TD is probably the quietest exhaust you can get aside from stock.

Sound isn't rly something I'm going for. Def don't want that annoying ricer fart can sound, lookin more so on the side of deeper aggressive sound if that makes sense. Nothing too loud. Jus a bit up from stock sound but more performance obviously

It's important to realize exactly what this entails.

Wut do u mean? I saw what can happen to the stock rods and I don't want to have that happen to me.and end up spending another 5k fixing everything. Or are you referring to doing a piston/rod upgrade and not just rods?

talked to sasha and bp hasn't fab'd a st kit for at and don't foresee one anytime soon. Did see s&r is coming out with a new st trying to get more info from them to see what's in the kit and if it'll be for at or just mt. So for now researching PL, APS, and SFR st kits.

god... dude you are in a big knowledge miss under-standing over here...

First, you can't just replace the rods, and but your engine back together like
that!!! that's not the way it goes. there are several machining and balancing
involves in this... so it's a better idea to go all forged internals, if you are
taring you engine into pieces...

Second, there is no point of having under-drive pulley and Turbo !!! it will
just tare your belt apart I know I read about it somewhere on this forum.

third, reversed y pipe will create back pressure which = loss of power....
there are plenty of exhaust systems out there that are not true duel,
but does have the duel exit.
"and there not as loud as you expect them to be"
nismo is leaning more to stock when it comes to sound
f*** my BOV is even louder....

DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME OR NEVER DO IT

Ok.well thank you for clarifying that for me. Not doing internals so ill scratch that out.
Didn't know that about turbo/under-drive pulleys guess that's my fault for assuming they were fi with turbo or maybe them for talking about it in a fi forum either way. Thank u.
See no one mentions these things, cuz I've seen no one mentioned anything about back-pressure with the reverse y-pipe.

This is why I created my own thread so i can get the help I'm looking for with the feedback directed towed my goals and questions instead of this made of mis-leading and confusing information out there. I really do appreciative the help and have already made changes to my plans for my set-up. Edit coming to list soon.

Your goals aren't very extravagant. Why not just buy a Vortech and call it a day?

Do my goals need to extravagant? So comment not needed since its not on topic nor help in anyway. I want to do a turbo build not a sc build.

So, what's your cost estimate at this point now that you've modified your list?
