Question about the Mishimoto reflective tape… if it’s touching the downpipe, is there a potential fire hazard?

I would think it would melt, its not rated for temps that high. The downpipe is way hotter than 675F.

Its not touching the downpipe in the photos, not even close to it. It is close to the turbo but there is zero heat soak from the turbo to the charge pipe thanks to the gold tape. I dont believe the tape is a fire hazard as it is meant to reduce the heat and is popular among many race programs from our level to the highest level. Btw our kit is optional with the GRT or powder coating of your choice or raw. We leave it up to you.

Yeah I wouldnt suggest putting the tape on the hot side. We use exhaust wrap for that.

That's pretty out of the box thinking on that air filter.

Do you have any more pictures demonstrating the piping shown in pic 1? there are 2 pipes going down and another coming across but it looks weird. Maybe it's the angle that makes it look like there is a 3rd pipe hiding in there.

I like the routing of those charge pipes on the drivers side but a vertical core keeping both pipes on the same side would cut out 4 feet of wasted charge pipe. The over the turbo route to the drivers side is much nicer than coming from the opposite side around the front of the engine.

ALso, pics of that wastegate setup. Does it connect to both banks? The pic is deceiving.

Just a question about pricing. I see that the full kit is 2000$ more than the base kit. THe costs of the osiris, maf, injectors, walbro are added up it only equals 1040$ at the purchasing price of those pieces online. DOes that mean the powder coating listed costs almost 1000$? Seems like it would more wise to buy the base kit then the rest of the stuff individually. maybe there is something else i'm missing in that parts list on the premium kit.

The waste gate comes off of the collector where both banks meet and then dumps into the exhaust. The third pipe you see is the pipe that connects the wastegate to the collector.

I would hardly call our kit having any wasted pipe. A traditional horizontal intercooler fits without modification especially with the large size of our intercooler (Core Size: 18x3.5x11 with 3in end tanks) and also flows much better than a vertical one in the position it would have to be in to fit well. Also not to mention the intercoolers gets much better air in that location. I assure you the kit has the most efficient design with the leas amount of piping possible.

Not quite sure what your intentions are with some of your comments but I can assure you not only have we designed the kit as best as humanly possible but we also have made the price as cheap as possible for both kits and they both have equal amounts of value to them based on market prices. If you looked closely the descriptions lists, you would see the premium kit includes much more than what you listed. The extras on the Premium kit are Uprev Osiris, SOHO Base Tune, SOHO Exhaust, Deatshwerks Injectors and Fuel Pump and also coating. This is worth more than the $2,000 difference. For more information on the kit and more photos please go to our website http://www.sohomotorsports.com

There are no intentions I just wanted clarification. I went to the website and looked at both kits which is where I saw the extra listed stuff on the premium kit. I did not see the exhaust system listed so I guess the extra 1000$ of cost would be the exhaust then.

I was sure the collector for the wastegate came off both pipes (it would have to) I just wanted to see how it was merged because I've never seen it in that location.

rethought what I posted about intercoolers. Chose to just PM it to you so it doesn't look like i'm trying to attack someone on here (not my intentions).
