Couple things I forgot to post. Right now my afrs are at 11.1-11.2 through a full pull and my iat started at 75 degrees and stopped at 103 when doing a pull from 1-5. Not near as bad as it used to be. Used to hit 143 degrees with other intercooler.

Josh, need to compare the ATI's vs Ambient Temp.

Also, when viewing the Log, all that matters is when you are in the Throttle, driving the car hard. When you let off temp can actually go up, but that means nothing. Also, just putting around town does not matter either.

What was the Ambiant temp for those numbers? The hottest mine ever got was about 8-10* above Ambient under a few full hard pulls thru 4th gear.

So, about a 30* drop.... That's about what I got! (5.5* drop+ 1% HP gain)

It's a very good IC, and works great for the money. I'm sure it's doing the job for you.

So, do your thinking your getting crazy belt slip or do you think you have a boost leak? How much boost do you think you should be hitting?

A V7 YSi can make 35psi and 1600+cfm. (Don't go by the Vortech rating, they are always very low) But that will Never happen on a 6 rib.

Also, the YSi turns slower, something like 3% or so. The gearing on it is I think 4.3 to 1, where the V1, V2 and V3 are 3.6 to 1

Plus the YSi Loves to make Big Power the Faster you spin it. I think Josh just put the car back together with the same gearing he had just so he could drive it and have a good starting point. When he gets it geared and tuned right his car will Scream......

Yes that's exactly what I did Tim. Same setup as before. Changed nothing so far. I haven't even bought new belts yet. I'm running an old belt that I had as a back up right now. It's pretty worn. Also haven't even tried to mess with tightening. Just threw it on and drove it. I'll be changing some things around again soon. I was just surprised to hit 17 out the gate with out touching the adjuster on it. Prolly won't be adding to much more to the setup this year with Christmas around the corner. But I do plan on spinning harder and trying to find out to hit the 700hp mark.

Josh, I forget you're exact setup. so what gearing is it? Cog? Serp? Stock Crank right? and Rev limit?

I want to calculate just how fast you are spinning it to make 17psi.

So would that be 60,536 rpms at red line?

Vortech says the V-7 has a 3.45:1 ratio is that correct?

I'm sure I'll see way more after I mess with the slip issues. I'm sure I would see at least 20 with a new belt tightened down. But this is the new set up I'm thinking.

27 blower
32 jack shaft
2.87 serp. Or 3.12
6.75. Crank
7500 rpms

I'm gonna mess with the 2.87 and 3.12 and see which one I can get to hold better.

Well that will spin it significantly faster, now if you can keep it from slipping. What would it take to convert it to a 8-10 rib set up??

Apparently to much money lol. I've sent out emails and talked to friends who had custom pulleys made for their v8s. But they can't get their guys to help out and the companies I emailed, never heard back from them. I'm just gonna see what it will do with this 6 rib setup. New belt and same setup, I'll gain a good amount. No worries there. I'll over spin it on paper, but in reality it prolly won't get close due to the slipping. Will prolly start ripping the z apart again tomorrow and start this project.

There have been people with a similar setup, 6 rib with a TimRod Radius Rod hold to 26psi.

That said, if I were to do a Ysi I'd go to a 10 rib serp and a much wider Cog.

It's not a simple as just changing out the pullies. Also the crank, PS, tensioner and Alt pullies would need to be custom made. And this is leaving the SC'er in about the same place. I put some work into this a few years back. It's about $2500+ for the custom pullies and you would also need 10 rib idlers, but those are available if you look hard enough.

I'd also think about a tandem Bracket setup much like a mustang YSi kit, but I must say with solid motor mounts and a TimRod Radius Rod the stock bracket becomes pretty stout!

Josh it should hold fine into the mid 20's, that's going to make a ton of power for you.

I should add that the setup I discribed in post 858 would be for a 4.1 sleeved motor with a YSi-B (1800-1900cfm), looking to make about 1000Whp @ 32-35psi and maybe even nitrous.
