Default Vortech and JWT cams

Just curious to see if anyone has cams with the Vortech. Curious to see if it's worth it once tuned.

Anyone?

C'mon dude. Try using the search function for thread titles with vortech and cams. Also take a look at the Vortech build threads on here.

I did that exact same search plus more. If you actually read those threads, you will come up with nothing definitive with little info concerning the Vortech/JWT combo.

I may be wrong, but it seems like there aren't many Vortech-ers that are cammed.

First of all, what are your power goals? Stock block or built motor?

If you're on a stock block, cams aren't necessary to make 400whp. At that power level, you're better off doing a pulley upgrade. It's not worth the cost and labor to install aftermarket cams to achieve a number that can be achieved by upgrading the pulley. Here's a perfect example from a very recent thread of some respectable stock block Vortech numbers with stock cams...

Plus there are 2 built motor Vortech build threads on page 1 of the FI section with JWT cams...

https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...tor-build.html

And then there's Triji's recent Vortech build with Kelford cams...

I have just installed a set of Tomie cams on my z after having it tuned it's a blast to drive. The power band hits at 4200 rpm till redline. The car was fun to drive before but with these cams the car is like a rocket at 4200 rpm.

I have JWT cams on a stock block. Although I also have headers and TP's that help open up things.
