Questions about rods and boosting
Okay... I've done research, I have money. I have a three questions that Im not 110% sure about. And I want to be positive.
1. What's the next weakest link after rods?
2. Do I need to lower the compression?
3. I know the stock rods won't last terribly long if I boost, but if I just upgrade the rods should it run reliably on 8 lbs of boost?
I know I will want more power in the future, but I don't have the money to build the engine completely but I do plan to.

If you are going to tare the engine down far enough to do connecting rods I would most certainly replace at least the pistons as well. Weisco makes a cost effective piston in 8.8-1 and in 11-1 compression. If you are doing boost I would suggest going lower compression. And as long as the heads are off for rods and pistons I would also upgrade the head bolts and head gaskets. My $.02. This is not something you want to cheap out on. If you are on a limited budget I would wait save the money up and do it right if you plan on disassembling the engine to upgrade.
