I'd definitely look into it - well worth the $3 bills … get it from CZP and use their promocodes!
If you look at the architecture of the HR and VHR Nissan revamped the bottom end (including a stout girdle)

Promocodes??? I need those in my life. I'm going to call Z1 tomorrow and ask them if I should replace the piston or just the rings and re-hone that cylinder. I can feel little divits in the top of the piston, but I'm betting I could use some fine sand paper and smooth them down easily.

fingernail test?
will the rings touch the divots?? Something tells me theyre gonna tell you to bore to 96mm ... which means new pistons & rings. I would take it to a few machinists and get their opinions too.

There is no "physical" defect in the cylinder walls, you just see like .25" columns on the cylinder walls. I don't feel anything with my fingernails. Just worried since that cylinder looks different then the two beside it.
Took the engine to the machinist today. I got some good news, he said the block is fine he just recommends running a dingleberry hone down the hole a few times to do a quick hone to remove the lines. He also recommends to pull the rings of and check the gap, if they are still with in spec then I'm good to go. He thinks there may have been some dirt or something in that cylinder that caused it.
As for the piston and head, he recommends taking some sand paper and sanding them down so they are nice and smooth.
Side Note: When building a block use a lint free cloth and ATF to clean your cylinder walls. I did not know this but I will clean my cylinder walls with ATF before closing it up for the final time.
acknowledged ... but a good ECU can assist to reduce lag ... To each their own!
Very true, also VGTs, anyone running those yet? I love turbos as much as the next car guy but I've always felt like superchargers are more kind to an engine as a add-on kit than a turbo kit. I do like rear mounted turbos a lot as it takes some of the heat out of the engine bay!

Makes me a little sad when people run low compression pistons on superchargers though.

I can see that, think it's more of a safe guard than anything or the old school mentality that it is needed.
just stay with stock CR unless more power is desired and they need to be changed.
Definitely Not an Old School Thing! ( I'm the Old School Guy ) 11:1 + 34psi
It's more like a New School Thing! LOL!
