That's a good point, But it's been in that location for years and zero oil anywhere around the filter.
Also, never had to drain it, but cleaned it out when the motor was out, only a tiny amount of oil in it, like 1/2 a teaspoon after 25,000 miles & loads of runs at the DragStrip.
That said it may be totally different with 30 psi vs my old 20 psi.

With a surge tank I would be worried about fuel temps if you don't use a fuel pump speed controller.
I only have a 450 lph pump in a 3 quart surge tank and the fuel warms up a lot. I'm using E85 and fuel temps go over 120 F. I waited for the twin pump for a year before I gave up. Not really happy with the catch can setup. I think in the future I need a speed controlled fuel pump to keep the temps in check.

I been waiting for someone to try out the DW440 so I can sell off my twin pump quite honestly. Since the car is down I might just end up going that route anyways and sell the twin.

why not just go with a TI/Walbro 450 or 525? 1/3rd the cost and essentially no hassle?

Before the twin pump I had a 450 with the modified basket done by dynosty. The basket rebuild was poorly done and ended up being too tall to where one side wouldn’t sit and leaked gas like crazy.
That left a sour taste and rather fix it myself I just opted for the CJM twins. The 440 looked really interesting with a brushless design and a built in boost a pump. I’m more or less attracted to it being 620lph@40psi. That’s impressive for such a small unit.

Damn! Dynosty left your fuel basket tall?
I think of the 4 or 5 fuel pump swaps I've done, all of them required a little more shaving (after the initial install attempt) to get it to fit right. But yea, that's pretty common...I can't believe dynosty would send the car with a partially open fuel tank!
I think my 525 will be fine for me for the rest of time!

I’m not sure a 525 will be enough for my dreams of grandeur build.
The car wasn’t at Dynosty, I sent a fuel basket to get modified and it was returned half assed. Guess it wasn’t a big enough money job for them to care. Called them asking about it and they wanted me to pay shipping again and possibly more for the service they never completed.
Teaches me not to outsource work to save time apparently.
If the 525 Hellcat Pumps what it says, I think I'll be Right on the Edge of maxing out the Pump as a Supercharger Requires much more fuel.
Even though I purchased a 525 already (not installed), I'd like to get it Done Right the First Time.
525 lph flows 379lph @ 75psi
I think I need more like 400 - 420lph @ 75psi
These numbers may be way off.....
If anybody Knows of Better/Real World numbers, please tell me the WHP numbers, 379lph will make on a Supercharged VP Q16 Gasoline Motor. I don't want to be on the Edge.
Thanks

According to Walbro the 525 should flow ~105gph (397lph)@75 psi
They have a new 535lph pump now. Not sure if it will fit in the basket or not but...according to walbro the 525 flows 470lph at 40 psi and 535 flows 535 at 40 psi. If this is true the 535 may be worth the extra $40 for a little more wiggle room.
First Time out of TimRod's Garage.....
But, wait..... After bleeding the brakes twice, the peddle still goes to the floor. Time to rebuild the Master Cylinder...
That's what you get when your car sits for near 2 years..... LOL

I'm excited for the future videos.
After 2 years of sitting, mine ended up just being a passenger window motor. (for now)
