Anybody with the Greddy TT, please help
Did the kit come with instructions? If so, could you guys please scan them and either post, or e-mail them to me at raplyrix@hotmail.com?
The kit comes with instructions, and you can also download a copy from the greddy website. www.greddy.com

etx and others,
Did your kit go together in a straight forward maner or was it really difficult. My son is doing an install and is having a terrible time, bolts almost impossible to reach, things not fitting, lousy directions. He wonders if it's his kit, all of them, or if it's just him! What problems did you encounter? Any comments would be appreciated.
Also if you did it yourself, about how many hours did it take and if a shop did it how long did they take?
Thanks,
Bob

Well well i have a comment on that. At the current moment i am stilling tryin to finish my install. And i feel the same way your son did. It has in my opinion been living hell haha!! my friends and i have never worked on a car this difficult before. A honda or toyota seems like bliss to work on now after this. But anyways i also felt the directions were crap. it left out a lot of critical steps and is retarded. inregards to the bolts yes many many basically impossible bolts to tighten as well as the passenger side manifold being diffcult to even get the bolts in properly, then as of where i am stuck right now is the nearly impossible IC/intake piping. The driver side filter piping to the turbine to me seems insane to actually acheieve getting it on the coupler without taking of the A/C condenser!! and the passenger side IC piping leading to the turbo being diffcult as well. Basically there was bigs humps to get over through the entire and i mean entire install!!! Right now all i need to do is finish the IC/intake piping and put the car back together such as the mess of coolant lines and pipes and hopefully go for an enjoyable ride. as of now to get this far a couple of my friends have been working day and night straight for 3.5 days(and day and night meaning till about 5-7am in the morning and getting a couple hrs of rest)
well here is an update....it is aprox 6am and i just stopped working on my car and have class at 8am but the good news is the car is about 95% done. The entire turbo is put together as well as all the stock parts that are suppose to be on. Only thing needs to be done is mount the radiator over flow, and do one more wire on the emanage that didnt seem to be clear b/c according to the directions it states one wire should be one color when it is not. Other then that we were able to get through everything and basically having a smile on my face because as a group with all my friends i feel very accomplished on what we have achieved the only thing is starting the motor but i feel very confident!!. I'll post again maybe later later tonight with more info if we have time which i am sure we will to finish those minor details which also include filling all the major fluids...till then.........ps all i can say is that it was a really good day inregards to productivity and getting through all the problems!! BIG SMILE FOR ME!
Redlinez and pinoy4065, here are some pointers.
Bolting up the manifolds is straight forward, but attaching the turbo to the manifolds is harder. I had to cut a 13mm wrench to reach one of the bolts that holds the turbo to the manis. It takes some patience to get it on.
Install the oil feed lines (SS lines on the top of the turbos) before you bolt them to the manifold. Make sure you use the copper gaskets on the banjo fittings, torque them down with the threads faceing torward the motor. Install the stainless steel feed lines onto the banjo fitting and torque it. Plumb the SS line to the oil pressure sender then bold the turbo up. It's hard to reroute the line after the turbo is in.
Installing the oil return lines, lower oil pan, etc is straight forward.
Now the hard part. The downpipe. It's such a perfect fit it is difficult to line up, but don't worry it WILL fit. First attach the wastegate to the manifold, don't forget the gasket and the ring that seals against the valve in the wastegate. Install the wastegate to the manifold using the 6mm allen head bolts supplied with the wastegates, but do not torque them down. Just start the thread and leave the wastegate loose, but no too loose so the seal ring does not fall out. Now install the downpipe to the turbo, thread the 3 bolts leaving them a little loose to allow some play. Now install the two bolts that hold the wastegate to the downpipe. You should have enough play in all the parts to thread the bolts in. Now once all the bolts are threaded in the whole assembly start torquing them down on the Downpipe/Turbo and the wastegate/manifold. Go around in a pattern on those five bolts, as you torque them the assembly will fall into place. Don't forget any gaskets or it will most likely not line up. Once the downpipe/turbo and wastegate/manifold bolts are tight you can tighten the two wastegate/downpipe bolts. After that you should be good. It's a real PITA I know.
Next problem I had was silly... I could not get the silicone hose fittings onto the turbo compressor inlet. After hours or trying I gave up. The next day I tried some wd40 on the hose and it poped right on! Don't worry about using wd40 on it, it's not a pressurized line, and the wd40 actually holds the thing on once it drys.
Greddy did not send me a power steering cooler, which is fine. It looks like a pos anyways. I relocated the stock one using the hoses they provided.
That's all I can think of at the moment, if you have any other problems just let me know.

That one took me a minute as well. Take the cast S looking pipe, install the proper silicone fitting on it and secure it with a hose clamp. Spray the silicone fitting with wd40 and push the fitting onto the compressor inlet using the pipe to force it on. It should slide right on, I got it first try after using some wd40. The wd40 drys quick so if it takes you a minute you may need to spray it again. Once it's on there make sure you got it where you want it because the wd40 holds it on once it's dry.
Thanks guys, he's still doing the install and has had all the problems you mentioned. His frustration is the time involved. It is taking much longer than he figured. He wasn't able to focus on the Greddy because other jobs were scheduled too. It's funny , he modified some of his wrenches too and even bought a new set just for this kit.
It's great there are people like you who went first and are willing to share your experiences.
I can't wait for him to complete the install, because I want him to do one for me, but he may need a vacation first.
Thanks again,
Bob

Yeah if i were him i would want a vacation from doing another one too......i really dont even want to look or think about another Z install... but yeah we already had several cut up wrenchs b/c my cousin has used them for several other turbo installs. but yeah we did also purchase some i think they are called chrome foot/feet wrenchs which really came in handy! as of this moment i just got out of class and am gonna call greddy about one wiring issue then hopefully fire it up! but yeah ETX damn i wish i could of gotten some of those pointers from you earlier hehe but its all good we eventually got it all done...that driver side S pipe u were talking about yeah we ended up just taking off the A/C compressor from the 3 bolts and the S pipe was a sinch after that just took a little extra step to take it out
I have one more question, Greddy says 1 step colder plugs. Are you using the factory platinum one step colder or a different plug altogether? My son has everything together , finishing the e-manage and has the question about your plug choice.
I'm going to post a new thread to get input from other Greddy owners.
Thanks,
Bob
