Anyone running the Greddy TT w/o the InterCooler?
Is it possible to run this system without the intercooler? I noticed that this is how the TT kit is packaged from Greddy and that the Intercooler is extra.
It can run without the intercooler, but I strongly recommend you get the FMIC with the kit. As far as I know...nobody has installed a kit without the intercooler....although I know one person that ran without the intercooler while some piping was being fabricated. He just took it easy...but he said the car was very dead and lifeless without it...and it was no fun...too scarey in my opinion.
If you cant afford the FMIC, then you can't afford F/I....seriously...

Trust me you'll be alot happier with turbo, its so much more fun, the extra money you'll be paying is money very well spent.
It's possible to run your TT without IC but you just can't boost more. The charge air will be hotter as it is compressed by the turbos. Hotter intake air will give the car more chance to ping and possibly detonate. The IC is one component to try to keep the air temp cool.

The extra money you spend on the turbo kit is worth every last penny!!!!

I would beg to differ on that........my Vortech runs very very strong with no lag at all as 4,000rpm hits instantaniously anyway. If I had to do it again I would get the vortech again and money was never my reason in the first place. I cant say enough about the vortech kit on my car, absolutely wonderful.

I would be the person that gq is speaking of. Running without the i/c ain't a good idea, especially in hot weather.
If you don't wanna take off reinforcement bar, you can look at the PE turbo kit. The i/c can be mounted with the re-bar still in place and comes with more goodies than the Greddy kit. Well worth the money if you think about all the parts it comes with.

HEHEHEHE.. you HAD an intercooler at the time.. just that it was connected with tape and didnt do anything..
learn from the man with the giant cat- get an intercooler, or if you dont want to lose your reinforcement bar, go custom intercooler..
that core greddy came with is way more than necessary anyway!!!

In order to keep the bumper reinforcement would a Greddy TT work with a Stillen or another brand intercooler. I would much rather do that if at all possible. I have not idea where to start looking for a custom intercooler in my area. And I will assume that custom will cost a pretty penny.

You can always go custom to keep the re-bar intact. The core as Chebosto stated from the Greddy is more than you will need. It just look purdy

all you have to do is calculate the CFM flow rate of your turbos at max PSI, which will allow you to determine intercooler core sizing.. i.e. rows, depth..
