Well, that IS what I was told... Just passing it on and going by what I have heard and read myself. I was under the impression that Greddy reads the IPW signals from the ECU and adjsuts them as necessary and passes on the 'correct' signal to the injectors. Under this scenario, e-manage is running the injectors. But, GQ, if you tell me that the latter is incorrect, then I stand corrected- I'm the first to admit it.

It only intercepts the injector signal only when the eManage adds IPW under boost. At idle and cruise, the MAF conditioning results in the ECU sending a smaller IPW signal..but again...the signal itself is unchanged....it leave the ECU..and goes directly to the injectors.

SO at idle, or cruise, the injector signal is unmolested...and passes from the ECU to the injectors without any alterations.
pretty neat egh?

ive heard technosquares opinion on the rc injectors before and i begin to wonder why they insist that we use the injectors that cost twice as much, are smaller, and are made by a company they have business relations with! my .02 i think they dont want to bother with making a map for the rcs so they just say it wont work buy the one weve made work.

Ok, GQ - I see what you are saying.

Trust me guys, Todashi is a very nice guy. If anyone wants an RC specific map and would like to pay for the R&D time (which sholdn't be too long) I am sure that he will not give you a straight out 'no'.

My classes end on the 11th at 5pm, so i am planning to be in L.A. that night; I am not sure if I can make it there at 8am the next morning, we'll see.
Will it be ok for me to just show up or do i need to tell you ahead of time.

showing up is fine.....check out the dyno thread for more details.

We just need 15 people confirmed to get the discount...anything about that can just be "walk-ups".

Default Question about ignition control?

Guys,

I am confused. Only with the injector harness can e-manage control IPW and adjust for additional fuel needs on boost. Is this what everyone is saying? And this harness comes with the e-manage, right?

And lastly, I thought e-manage could control ignition timing as well through the use of the timing harness which is extra. Is this correct?

Please let me know.

GreddyZ: That is correct the e-manage with the Greddy TT kit comes with injector harness used by the E-manage to control injector IPW. It will provide more fuel based on the MAF vs. RPM map from the setting (base) greddy provides.

Ignition timing can be control only on the retard end. The e-manage can't advance. You will need a harness and 6 rectifier diode. There is a thread by ETX on how to hook this up.

Thanks for the input 350Now! One last question though...the ignition retard is all thats needed though right if I was say running just 6 psi and NISMO Sport cats, correct? I don't need to worry about advance yet until I really start to crank up the tune (i.e. boost) but I would also need internals too then of course. Let know.

with F/I...you will never have to advance the timing....ever. The factory already did that for us....from 20-45degrees of advance...yikes! You'll only need to retard...and even then.....only on some cars, and beyond 6psi.

If you havea 2003 Z, you will likly be fine without retard up to 6psi. If you have an 04, several us feel the 2004 runs a bit leaner, so you might have to retard slightly...even at 5-6psi. It just depends. Since I think they have the sweet 93octane gas in Altanta, I think you fell be fine with any year Z up to 6psi without ignition retarding.
