FASTEST 350z
I hope bluefish doesn't get mad at me for posting this, but I'm so excited I gotta let you guys know that Andrew Rubio of Performance Motorsports in Long Island New York just ran a 11.228 at 120.57 at Cordova Dragway in IL, I believe they are only running 9psi.
He has a PE kit with MOTEC EMS.
BTW, I know that still have some tweaking to do on this car. I seen it in person, it is really nice.
You can check there set up at http://www.theexperience.com/

The have custom JE Pistons with 11.5:1 compression and have custom rods, I forget who they are made by. You can ask bluefish (he posts here).
Juztin, I don't know if you meant it, but you sound like a hater I've been posting on this board for some time now, I don't lie. But for those of you who want some proof, just go to http://ndra.nopi.com/ndra_2k4/default.cfm or http://ndra.nopi.com/eqraces/dsp_qua...cfm?vshowid=32 in the upper left hand side you'll see a box for "NDRA News", Lastest results from Cordova, Illinois. He raced in the RWD outlaw.
Amazing, but I think by the end of the season this car will be in the low 10's.

well, the outside still looks like a 350z but, besides that, nothing else does, you can call it what you want, doesnt bother me, but its only a shell of a 350z now. dont get me wrong its a badass car, im not knocking it, i just said its only a remnant of a 350z. arent many factory parts left on it.

Would you please confirm the turbo pressure you stated, and do you know what the weight the Z car is?

Re: Re: FASTEST 350z
I asked how much boost and they said 9 psi. I asked how much compression and they said 11.5:1. I don't know if they bumped up the boost for this run. You'll have to ask them that question.
But I do know that this car is in full race trim. Gutted, slicks, etc. This is no grocery getter!
I will say that this time should be posibble at 9psi though, if the car weighs, say 2700 and is putting maybe 450+ to the wheels. Stock compression is 10.3:1? So bumping it up to 11.5, boosting and running a properly tuned MOTEC. I believe it, Mate

tig488 i totally agree...with what you are saying! When you swap different engines like the skyline RB etc...it's not a 350z anymore...it's a skyline disquised as a 350z....

HUH???!! I think we must be talking about two different cars here. The car I'm talking about doesn't have a skyline engine and is not a "shell" of a 350z. Here is what I'm talking about.
The car still has the VQ35 and unibody construction.

there is no way you can say thats not a Z. it still has the vq35 motor in it, actually that was the first questions i asked that guy you see in the pic, i think that is the owner of the car. i can also confirm they where running 9lb. Boost but where having problems with the motec timing. so yah..
now those solara, those wheren't solara's those where supras with solara shells. i have never seen a solara do 6 second runs. MAN those where some fast cars.. it was too bad all i saw sat night was 2 Z's one in the show and the drag one.
more pics here

Congrats to bluefish and his crew, that's quite impressive. But I do believe bluefish is just a salesman. The salesman that told me the Greddy kit comes with 'bored out' stock injectors. It could have been someone else, but at that point I gave him a little chuckle and hung up the phone.
I really hope that's a stock motor. A built block with a stock head could make way more power easily with the proper management system.

hey everyone this is Andrew from Performance Motorsport. just to clear everything up we ran an 11.22 at 120.3. Dan will be posting the scanned timeslip in the next few days. for the record as most of you know we are running stock heads with a built bottom end. It has Carillo rods and JE pistons with a compression ratio of 11.5:1, and a ported oil pump, and yes the compression ratio is high for a turbo engine. we are running a Motec M880 ECU with a custom harness and retained the variocam and drive by wire throttle all controlled through the motec box. other than that it's an off the shelf PE twin turbo with a Greddy SSQ BOV. if you go to www.theexperience.com you can see a ton of pics of the car. we are running eactly 9.2 psi of boost right now. on the 11.22 run i got off the gas halfway through 4th gear cause it wasn't quite tuned yet and i didn't want to break anything. (been there done that in a rather spectacular fashion and you all know and have seen ). we are still in the process of tuning the car. it's nowhere near it's peak power levels yet. no we don't have the dyno installed yet, just waiting on the contractor to dig the hole. if you want to know anything else post and i'll try to reply whenever i have the chance.

hi guys i wanted to drop a line about our project z. it is a fully built twin turbo. we just got back from the dyno today and are slowly working out the glitches in our fuel system. two weeks ago we ran a 13.087 at 114.31 at bandimere speedway. the elevation is about 5200 feet so i would guess that calculates to a low 12 sec. pass. that was at 9 pounds. we tuned the engine in today at about 13 pounds so hopefully we will run in the high 11s at altitude.
