Question For those with the SSV IM

Did your idle change after fixing the Kinetix SSV intake manifold?
Do you hear a whistle sound on partial throttle on driving?

checked it for air leaks but non found.

My idle did not change and I doubt that the whistle is normal. I would bet that you have a vacuum leak somewhere.

yes i just installed my dads last week and after we got done the ilde does dipp a lil everyonce n a while but theres no pattern to it. And as far as the sound goes we have the same deal its not a leak but if you pinch the vacum line comin out of the valve cover it goes away. And i was doing some messing around and if you plug up that hole with your finger it idles perfectly so i dunno.it almost sounds like you just hear the air whistling through that line.....

No idle change and know whistle, other than the popcharger. Probably have a small leak somewhere.

Thanks guys. My idle is not rough, it's lower!
I will look again for any air leaks.

when i first fixed it, there was an air leak at the throttle body. Better check there first. I still have a lower idle, and no leaks found!

didnt they have a problem with vacuum leaks where the IM bolts to the manifold ? I think several guys had to have thiers sanded or milled flat , so it would seal.

My ideal is the same after installation. No whistle noise that I can hear.

I had to retighten the bolts since some of them came little loose.

If then came loose they (the fasteners) were either not torqued down to the correct specification or the manifold flange is not flat.

I installed and got the whistle. I removed the throttle body and re-installed using blue RTV to seal and the whistle went away. Idle is a little HIGHER than it used to be, at 1K with A/C on...
