This is a great product...

I used to be able to fry an egg on the plenum, or use it to keep warm in the winter. Now its just luke warm to the touch, cars feels more powerful longer.

Just make sure not to over tourqe the 6 bolts on the top of the plenum. I accidently cracked mine Do' oh..

For NA when you do several WOT runs the plenum definetly becomes cool. (or at least approaches what ever the ambient inlet temperatures are). In your case if the boost pressure is heating the air, the plenum temperature will approach whatever the charge air temperature is.

Could you do a quick test? Do the same WOT runs and immediatly get the temperature of the metal air tube just upstream of the TB. The air tube is not being heated by the heads or coolant flow. If the air tube is hot, that will indicate the air going into the plenum is also hot. That could be the heat source you notice.

Hmmm... Got thermocouples? I can think of a few interesting tests you could do that would show what was happening.
I would try again but my car is in the body shop at the moment. I'll have to play around with it some more when I get it back, I guess.

Just got mine in the mail the other day. I think that I will install on Tuesday, can't wait. Could somebody list all the tools needed for this job? I don't have a torque wrench, what should I use in its place? Thanks for the help, I can't wait!

You will need a 10 mm socket with ratchet and extension, a 10 mm nut driver, and a pair of pliers to get hose clamps off easily. You will nee a knife or some scissors to cut a hose, and a pair of pliers, some teflon tape, and a wrench to tighten the fittings on the ccv valve, Use a 10 mm nut driver while wering mechanics gloves to get around 110 inch lbs on the plenum bolts.

Just remember to torque the bolts to inch pounds and not foot pounds. Got mine in the mail last week and loving it.

there's a hose that carrys fluid to the tb to warm it. you cut that tube and insert the ccv to eliminate that source of heat to the tb.

My suggestion is to use the Nissan specs in the Service Manual: for the two nuts 25-29 N-M (19-21 ft-lb); and for the six bolts 30-34 N-M (23-25 ft-lb)

Got mine today, just finished installing it, took about 2 hrs, tops....
very complete, thorough instructions... very impressed with Motordyne!!!

gonna install a koyo radiator on thurs night, then i'll try to get back on the dyno asap to do some new runs and some fine tuning, wondering how much power the spacer will add?...i'm guessing i'll make 20wrhp more (based on what everybody else has been saying)...so i should hopefully make 570rwhp @ 15.5psi..we'll see

570rwhp... Damn man that is just sick!

Thanks for the props TODD!

EDIT: btw You surely already know the Koyo may not be aparent on the dyno but it sure will make a difference on the street and on the track. Coolant temps make a big difference on timing.

ya, the main reason for the radiator is for the road course... i just want to have all of my "projects" done before i go re-dyno...and i still expect to see a few degrees temp drop even on the dyno, but for sure, the biggest difference will come when sliding sideways on the road course

Thank you everyone for taking the time and writing some good words.

We really appreciate it. It means a lot to us. It encourages us to do even better in service and support and to continue to make innovative designs.

We have several designs on the board right now and many of them are completely new or different from anything you've seen before. And we won't release anything untill it is well refined and qualified for service. We will focus on one product at a time and won't move on untill its first class quality.

My background is in Aerospace rocket propulsion and making the best, most reliable, design is required as a regular course of business. Through years of aerospace design experience and having learned what quality and a good design criteria is, it makes it my mandate to bring the same quality of product and design to the 350Z and G35.

And just as important! All constructive criticisms are equally welcome!
It is always very helpfull to know what your thoughts are. What can be changed or improved. Criticising a specific feature is a good way for me to find out what Z's & G's and any VQ enthusiasts are looking for.

Thanks again for all your input and support!

Tony, is the line that the CCV is connected to a coolant feed or return to/from the TB?

The best bet is to get one of the major corporations (Nissan?) to sign up to one of the radical and completely new designs I'm working on. The new design is universally applicable to any car, so maybe...

I'd like to see it on the next GTR.
