its normal for these pipes. It sounds like a hissing sound at around 2k and a buzzing at 4k exactly.

Lol no it won't go away. Its one of those things test pipes do. It might be the individual harmanoics of this specific test pipe that makes it hiss at 2k. I know its annoying. I know other resonated ones don't hiss at 2k. All non-resonated ones sound MUCH worse, if ur like me and hate that buzzing hissing. Ur best off getting HFC or just getting macho man test pipes and living with it.

sounds like its coming from the rear end... even with windows down doesnt sound like its coming from hood or anywhere near it... but i dunno, hoping full airflow set up will eliminate that soon...

I have the Labree resonated TP and have the same hissing or fluttering sound. I've posted a thread like this and apparently its normal. Kind of annoying but I've learned to live with it. The gas smell doesn't go away either that's what your cats filtered before you removed them, the smoke should clear after break in. If you want to hear mine send me a PM I work in Tampa.

It's normal. It's not loud or annoying anyways.

Until I started reading posts about exhaust components, I had no idea that 350Z drivers were so concerned about “the sound that it makes.” Some of the descriptions kill me: “It sounds like phoooostt-phooosttt-phooostt.” Headers and High Flow cats will alter the sound of the exhaust. Its just something that you live with.

Have you guys checked for exhaust leaks. With the Test pipes ive noticed i get them from time to time. I keep cracking my exhaus around the welds. not sure if its from too much heat or vibration.

My car does it too. I have the LaBree resonated test pipes. It's not the best noise to have coming from your car, but my car is so loud, it doesn't bother me that much.

I think you have the same noise as i do. Based on what i found out myself... After lifting the car is that the inside resonator fell apart.

I would suggest jacking up your car and give a tap on the test pipes. If you hear something loose inside... you SOL just like me. From my understanding my resonator fell apart ont he inside. SO now i have to get new test pipes.

I dont know what most of you experience... but if yours sounds like there is a metal pellet like sound ... then you have a problem.

I know most people with Labree havent had any issues, and since i'm gonna be spending the 400 + on them i'm hoping not to run into any issues. There is some rasp that i get when WOT at around 4k but its very small and goes away soon after but at slow down i had no sound. (not until my problem with resonator) now its rattling.

Mine have done it since the install. The resonator is intact. The sound I have is definitely from the change in airflow with no cats.

Also, the noise I am referring to is not rasp.

I would get under the car and give it a hit on the resonator and see if you head anything.

Cause normally there shouldnt be any sound.

I've had the Helix non-resonated pipes on my car for almost 3 years and it still hisses. It even sounds a tad like a blow-off valve at times when I let off the gas.

I've also noticed that it hisses a bit at idle as well.

Once I realized that everyone else was experiencing the same symtom, I stopped stressing over it.
