Reccommended Intake other than JWT?
What do you guys reccommend as an intake other than the popcharger?
Injen
K&N
Nismo
How important is a hydro lock valve?
any input on the sound from different intakes?
If anyone knows of any good deals on intakes other than JWT i would be interested

First decide what type of intake you want:
a. Short. Filter inside engine bay
b. Long. Filter at end of tube outside engine bay
c. Hybrid. Filter inside engine bay. Some sort of tube feeding ambient air to filter.

I think AEM makes the CAI and NISMO stamps it's name on the piping.
Unless you're plowing through water, the bypass isn't necessary. Some argue it robs you of any gains you MAY get from a CAI. When I had my NISMO, I still used it though because I wasn't willing to gamble with hydro-locking my motor. After one summer I sold it as it got dirty SO fast and having to pull the bumper to clean the filter every 2-3 months was a huge PITA.
Another member of the forum measured the air temperature through a JWT vs CAI and found that above 15 mph, there was no difference. Food for thought...
For the money, I'd say JWT is your best bet. I liked mine, but pulled/sold it to stay in stock for autocross.
Edit: From the looks of it, I may try a Stillen intake next year. Looks easy to maintain, and has complete segregation from the engine bay... from the picture.

We sell an intake that has a velocity stack and you wouldn't have any fears of hydrolocking -
I don't know about the cost on the others - but this one is 149.00

give me a call to discuss
