Default HELP! plenum spacer install problem

ok so i did the motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer install yesterday and everything went really smooth... yesterday the car ran fine and i was very happy...today i start it up and it sounds good again...im driving and i put it in neutral from 4th gear and the car just dies...anyone know what could be the problem...i just started it back up and it worked fine for a while but it did it again at a stop light after i put it in neutral and i had to start it back up again...ive been driving it some more and it hasnt done it but i am starting to notice a little lag or something mid range in 2nd gear...anyt thoughts on that either....thats not such a big deal as it is slight...my only concern tho...what (if anything) are you supposed to take out of your engine and not put back in when you are done installing... i have the small piece that i replaced with the aramid gasket or whatever...but i left the little black plenum thing that goes right under the spacer...thanks for any input

That's what I was going to say...you don't have a popcharger by any chance do you? Because, for some reason people have had this happen when they put their car in neutral while they are driving after a popcharger has been installed. My suggestion, take the plenum spacer out and see if your problem goes away.

edit* didn't read your mod list. Could be a similar issue as the popcharger though.

if it started happening after the spacer install.. reinstall. the gaskets are very delicate and can easily bend. leaks aren't hard to achieve. don't over-torque the screws, either.

check for any leaks, but this is not a typical sympton of plenum spacer but that of CAI ... as other people have already stated =)

Good luck with taking it apart and check for leaks and put it back together

StillAlive,

Your description really does sound like a classic CAI related symptom. I had the same thing happen to me when I installed the Stillen CAI.

As an experiment, try putting on your stock air tube and air box to see if that changes anything.

You could try raising idle rpm. Either get dealer to do it for you, or drill a hole in your throttle lol

Cipher will rase your idle just like the dealer tool.
