MREV V2 Independent Dyno Tested on Bone Stock 287HP Motor (Wired 24/7's 05 Touring)

If you're planning to get a tune that sounds good road warrior.
I personally don't see why crawford plenum should perform much better than a simple spacer. Both mods do the same thing, increase plenum volume.
If you check out my thread on my results with cipher, you can see I still need some tuning. After 4 months the stock ECU just can't adjust to where it should be, clearly the stock ECU is not meant for max power, it is meant for economy.

The fact that the car still seems to be pulling strong gives me a good indication that there is plenty of power to be unlocked with tuning.

The plenum and spacer will all perform similarly but there will be some amount of difference.
In fact, you can see how they compare on the 287 engine by seeing the dyno plots from the Sport Z Magazine Plenum Mod Shoot Out.
I also compared the spacers in a similar manner and found the same results.
The 5/16" spacer makes a lower peak power but a higher average power than the 1/2" spacer when used with the MREV.
You can expect to see very similar gains between a 1/2" spacer and a cast plenum.
Click on the "shootout" link below to see how they compare.

the bottom line here guys,
is having the spacer better than having my crawford?
lets take into consideration a full tune and the addition of the mrev2 in my particular case and strictly speaking performance.
thanks for the responses

I think you made a wise choice in keeping the Crawford Plenum. There is really no difference between the two. But if you still want to sell it, give me first dibs

ok...reviving from the dead.
i now have the mrev2 + crawford plenum with stock 06 intake and a utec tune. i will be going to the dyno soon for results.
my mods were CDA intake and crawford plenum with utec tune on my last dyno.
i am hoping for some better results this time!
pop charger on stand bye

When are you going to dyno it? Cant wait to see the results! Also, you going to do a dyno with stock intake and then add the popcharger and see if there is a change? That would be interesting!
Did you tune it already? If so did you notice a performance difference on the butt dyno? Do you have a nonrevup?
Sorry for all the questions but I am getting ready to buy the MRev2 and thinking about the spacer too, but am interested in what kind of difference I'll see with the added spacer and a UTEC tune . Since your Crawford plenum is kinda like the spacer it will be interesting to see the results!

well i do feel a difference to be honest...but that could be attributed to the tune also. i was still dialing in my tune before the mrev2 and now i am very close to being done with it installed. i do have the non revup btw
i guess the dyno will tell the story.
as far as the pop charger...i am still enjoying my stock air box right now. i would be real curious too if the pop charger made more hp...it is a wait and see right now. i don't have the cash to keep getting on the dyno.

Higher intake temps will lower HP on a dyno. Most likely if you start with a cold stock airbox, do a dyno run,... then switch to popcharger, let everything cool down, and do another dyno run, you will see better HP.
But if you do a few dyno runs back to back, as the whole engine bay heat soaks the popcharger will probably lose power.
