Default Ram air into Popcharger?

I'm thinking about running a ram air pipe/tube from my grille up to the front of my popcharger.
Has anyone done this...or seen this? I am hoping that it will help the air temp coming into the intake. Anyone know if this will even help? My next step after that is to "conceal" it with a black or silver mesh grille insert.
Any opinions on this?

Yes. If you can think of it, it has been done. One of our members used ducting for a clothes dryer. It isn’t pretty, but gets the job done.

Don't mind the guys obsessed with dyno numbers- a ram air intake won't show gains on a dyno, of course. The whole point of ram air is to shove air into the intake while the car is moving, and on a dyno the car isn't moving, so no air is 'rammed' into the engine. When you're moving, it is. Ram air intakes will provide a real-world performance gain, unfortunately it's unprovable (unless you put a dyno in a wind tunnel).

I appreciate the info guys. My thoughts are that the air temp inside the engine bay is higher than the outside ambient temp (Especially when we are breaking 100 deg Fnht every damn day for the last month), and that it will improve performance and possibly help keep the engine cooler. I have found some plastic flex tube (guttering) that is black and more resiliant than the "dryer hose". If I get time this weekend, I'll try it out.
Thanks again.

In theory (and usually practice) engines will be more efficient with warmer intake air, and make more power with colder intake air. So (esp in winter) you might see power gains when you get on it, but a slight MPG loss when you're not, so be warned.

It won't do you much good. If you really are interested in doing something of this nature on the popcharger, get an air duct cutout for the front bumper.

Go to zcarparts.com and look up this item (airdam) #112960. This is what you are looking for I have it and it was easy to install but i had to remove the right side of the inner grill (you can hardly notice it`s gone) price on the air dam was like 90.00 plus shiping..

I just recently did this on my Z i felt a difference on the interstate at 60 to 70 when accelerating to pass but around town its just the same as it was. To help with concealment try using a ready made intake *scoop* i guess youd call it used for brake cooling ducts they are black plastic and easily zip tied to the front grille they are not noticible at all. I used silicone brake duct hose left over from my race car its sturdy heat resistant and fits very nicely into the front of the popcharger. Duct is kind of expensive but the scoop was only 16 bucks
Good luck

They do make cold air intake ducts. Check out this link. It will do exactly what ur saying u want to accomplish. And it will look good and connect right up to the air inlet.
I just ordered one.

pep boys has some ducts you could buy chrome or black, cheap, and will probably work. but for the jwt i dont think it will matter cause its not only sucking in air from just the front, its all around.
