Default JWT popcharger and Intakes in general

I just got a jwt popcharger and man that thing sounds nice!!!I have to say I didn't feel any gain but just sound which I dont mind but here's my question, they say an intake gives you this much hp and that;just like the jwt popcharger which they say 6.x to the wheels and shows a dyno to prove it, but how come they don't show th torque gains or loss? could it be cuz we loose too much torque? for my car I haven't felt anything; i took it to the track and hit 14.189 stock so I will be going back to test it out; on the other hand my friend with the injen intake said he felt his car lost power and he took it to the track and his car got slower; quarter mile wise he said; he was running 14.5 with CAI without system and spare tires and he ran 14.5 with his entire system and a person in the car stock; could we be sacrificing a tiny hp gain a whole lot of tq lost with intakes? if someone has any input on this im sure it would be of great help to me and to everyone who is asking the same question, thanks.

Have patience, my son. You have to wait for the ecu to get adjust to it and after about a 100miles or so, you'll start noticing some power gains. Injen stuff sux... you lose all kinds of power with their exhaust and intake.

yeah I know that the ecu has to adjust but what about tq lost? how much are we really loosing and is it worth the litle hp gain? cuz they only post hp gain and say nothing about tq.

we may not but how come the dyno's all the intake manufacturers make never include tq only hp I mean if you dyno the car wouldn't you be interested to see tq gains or lost or just to see what the tq was from stock.

If a intake adds, say, 2.8 peak horsepower, that is a one percent increase. No way that the most experienced racer can feel a one percent difference.

The dragstrip is a poor test for comparing mods. Too much room for human error. I can make three runs on the same day: 13.5 seconds, 13.6 seconds and 13.7 seconds without any changes to the car.

If you are attempting to bolt-on horsepower to decrease ET, do not expect to turn a 13.8 second 350Z into a 12.8 second racer. It is not going to happen.

Please to a google search for horsepower 101 and study how the number is calculated.

I have one question. I used to have a short ram installed on my old car and it made a nice sound while accelerating, but while just sitting there it made a kinda annoying sucking sound.

I was thinking about putting a popcharger on my z, and I was wondering if it makes that same kinda hissing noise.

Because the majority of 350Z owners are interested in peak horsepower. It makes analyzing performance less complicated.

Look at some dyno plots of pop charger gains and youll see no drop off in power anywhere in the band

To increase hp you have to increase torque ---- torque is a measurement of force --- hp is the measurement of effort/time needed

As the other poster said --- study HP 101 and youll see why there is no torque loss when the hp is increased

Now if your talking cams you may lose some low end to gain some high end but thats only because the cam dictates the air being sucked in

My stock dyno vs. JWT install dyno, done back to back on the dyno:
