Default How much horse Increase?

I have a cold air Nismo Intake with a water filter, or also known as a water bypass, My question is if its not raining can I take off the water bypass and make ithe Intake one peice? will it sound better and will it increase horse power by like 2hp?

seems like too much effort for only a possible 2hp.. but i doubt it would even give you that..

from my understanding the useless water bypass pretty much negates the effect of a CAI in the first place

Oregon? When I was in Tigard for the past 6-7 years we had some serious, serious flooding. Keep the bypass on. Any gains by removing it are minimal to say the least.

Take a look at the water bypass device. It's not going to muffle that 12 year old to sound like a Z. Apples and oranges. There are NO intakes that will make the Z sound like a Civic. Take everything upstream of the MAF completely off temporarily, and prove it to yourself. That water bypass is only lame until you slosh through a foot of water.

I used to have an AEM CAI (which is the same as the Nismo) and without the bypass (never heard it with) it screaming real nice. It kept me satisfied for months before I wanted an exhaust to bring that sound up a notch.
