Default Rev-up + test pipes = CEL ?

How many of you have have test pipes/res. test pipes/ HFC's and have CEL's ? I read that some do the non-fouler fix and still get the CEL...true/false?

Edit: This is on the rev - ups.

By reset, what do you mean? You reseted the ecu? Or did autozone do something?

by reset, i mean that i just told the guy at autozone to clear the code. the guy was really hesitant to do so, but i convinced him to.

or you could unplug ur battery for like 5 min and let the ecu reset itself, i think that should work.

I have a 06', I installed test pipes the first week I had the car. Always install non foulers on the 04.5 + motors. So in your case, your 06' needs non foulers. Once you install them, you can do a soft reset by disconnecting the negative battery for a few minutes or the technosquare foot pedal reset.

good luck

Open your door, there is a sticker on the side which states the gross vehicle weight and OEM tire sizes, you should also find the production date which will determine if your vehicle is pre or post 04.5.

For the short period of time I had test pipes on my 05, I never had a CEL come on. I didn't have any kind of non-fouler fix either.

It would have turned on eventually. It not if, its when it will come on.

See I was told that if they don't come on right away, that they wouldn't have come on. I drove the car 3-4 different times for more than 5 minutes each time, and they never came on.

So you're saying it takes a while?

Reviving an old thread...

I just installed Fast Intentions res. tp's on my revup and the cel came on after about 30 miles of driving. I have non-foulers installed and was careful not to damage the O2 sensors. Will a "soft reset" fix it? I know the CEL is my tp's but I'm probably going to autozone to check out the code anyways. Rev up owners w/ tp's help please! How did you keep it off?!

^Thanks, I'm doing that right now. Some rev-ups will throw a cel some won't.

I checked out the code, it's P0420 Cat efficiency threshold (bank 1). Which side is bank 1?

I had TP's with non foulers on my 35th, no cel's at all.
If you do throw a cel, simply reset it.
Either peddle reset or disconnect your NEG terminal and hold down your brakes for about 2 min.

I'm going on about 10 mos w/ no CEL. I had it at first and then did the reset procedure and it went away and has never came back.

I got a CEL at first on my TPs with non-foulers. Did a soft reset via a scanner. Haven't had another CEL in about two months.
