Default Nismo Exhaust Install ?

Tried the search, nothing.

Curious as to the install, does it take 2 people to do, as in lifting the muffler and installing. I will have access to a lift. Just wondering as I will end up telling my wife she has to assist at the lift,

i did it by myself with little trouble. it's a PITA getting the rubber mounts off at times, but it's basically a piece of cake.

Yeah, I heard to use a lot of WD-40 on the mounts and they will come off.

With one person, it's definitely doable, especially if you have access to a lift. Having another body just makes it easier.

Looks like the wife is my helper. She won't mind, she helped me paint my calipers on my 03 Z,

bad idea to use WD40, i heard it dries and cracks the rubber eventually if you use too much. i forget but i think it's better to use white grease or something from pep boys or something. pretty sure KY works too

Default Removal

Hey zand02max

Did mine.

Hope this helps, I coudnt get the stock canister off either, but this was fairly quick to do

The best way is to remove the 2 metal hangers mounted from the underside of your car 'with' the rubber mounts. You will need a long extension for your ratchet, but removing the 3 bolts from each side will easily drop your rear muffler.

Take off the 3 rubber hangers and put them on the new exhaust.

Once you have the Y-pipe on and the straight pipe mounted to the mid-rubber hanger, get someone to hold the rear canister in place as you re-mount the 6 bolts in place, and the hard part is done.

i installed a catback on a different car once. it took about 1.5 hours and did not need a second person. it really helps to have the right tools to cut down on time.
