Default Has anyone monkied with their Cats yet?

Hey guys, I had a question about Catalytic converters in the 350z. Are there O2 sensors placed anywhere within the exhaust that send a "error" message to the ECU if tampered with? I ask because on my current car, you could do all the exhaust work you want but still have everything get choked up in the Cats because if they aren't there, the car goes into a low emissions "limp" mode and it kills the car. So I was wondering if the 350z had a similar rig up with O2 sensors. Sorry if I sound dumb

Yes there are 2 sets of O2 sensors. I don't think anyone has removed the cats yet to know if they are there to light up the MIL. No one has O2 simulators out yet anyways in case they do. There are some aftermarket companies that are selling straight pipes to replace the cats but they do not say anything about a simulator which may mean that we don't need them...

We have made some hi flow cats for the Z . We kept the o/2 sensors in place and the ECU has not thrown any codes.
We did try to run the car without the rear sensors and it did throw codes. Going to dyno this weekend to see if we made any power.

But did you run the car with the sensors and without the cats. That is what I am interested in. Of course it will throw codes if you simply removve the rear sensors. What is you keep them there without the cats?

They will read that the air exhaust is not clean, and give you a code of "CCU". we need the simulators to deceive the ECU.
