I bought a KCR exhaust which folks on here said was the same as the X02. I dont kow but i paid $200 more for than the X02 and it fit flawlesslly-the guys at the custom exhaust shop doing the install were impressed. Its been over 2 years its been perfect.

It'll be fine. I have it, just take it to a muffler shop and have them fix the hangers because i can assure you 99.9% of the time it fit like sh*t.

Also check out my thread about sanding off those titanium tips, they get dull and blotchy.

All you have to do is paint it and it won't rust...

Default Difference between these exhausts?

Hey guys,

I was looking over a few exhausts on ebay and came across a couple of them. From what I can tell, all of these are same damn exhausts with different names and different prices. They are all HKS replicas, just not sure why there are so many different variations with different prices.

Just wondering if that is indeed the case.

Thanks for all the input guys.

There is none, all the same exhaust, it is a knock off of a HKS exhaust, I am running one (for now...) and it is fine, fits well and sounds good with stock cats

They are all the same. I am also running one. Have had it for two years now, no problems no rust at all. In my opinion, it sounds better than the over $1000 real hks exhaust.

I am thinking of going ahead with this one then

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/INFINITI-G35-...d=294278174212

The price is decent enough compared the same one's being sold for over $500 (Godspeed) and as you guys mentioned they sound good too. Should be okay right?

Thanks

They all look the same to me. Keep in mind this is dual purpose exhaust for both the 350Z and G35. Believe that the 350Z will NOT need the extensions above.

1.You get what you pay for
2.If you encounter snow, sand, salt, preventive maintenance is a must..often..to prev. rust
3.Magnaflow X-pipe mod

But in your sig you claim to have a "HKS Dual Exhaust".....

Anyway i have an authentic HKS True dual on my car with tomei headers and test pipes, sounds great. Just make sure you stick with the stock cats if you get the knock off, or you'll get alot of rasp

When you get the exhaust..just coat the exhaust with clear high temp spray paint..I have no issues on mine (knock wood) .the fitting was a little tricky but a little heat to hangers by muffler shop will set it right. Replace the tips with real titanium tips and ur all set. The sound is very very mild in my opinion. Its not loud at all with stock cats but with Test pipes they are loud but not unbearable.I think they are bigger piping dia than HKS and some say better gains .

I will be sticking to stock everything else, so I am not worried about that. Will just be getting the things the exhaust comes with installed. Those two little extra parts above are extenders required for the G35's as it says in the add, I just won't need them for the 350Z.

I am in Calgary so we do get tons of snow and stuff. What kind of maintenance are we looking at? How can I make sure that they don't die/rust on me fast? Would an exhaust shop be able to coat it with a high temp spray paint? But wouldn't do change the color of the whole thing? Sorry for the noob questions guys and thanks for all the help.

Sorry for the completely noob question. But would getting the above mentioned exhaust system installed replace my stock cats as well? I have no idea what I am looking at. I don't want any rasp so would like to keep the stock cats as you guys mentioned, just not sure if aftermarket cats are a part of this exhaust system here? If so, I can always not get that part installed and only the rest done.

Although I am assuming since it's a CATBACK exhaust system. The parts only start after your stock cats, so getting everything installed that it comes with should not replace your stock cats. Just want to confirm to make sure.

Thanks guys!

Another questions guys, sorry for the bombardment. So I was browsing videos on youtube and came across this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWzO8...eature=related

The reason why I am thinking of doing this whole thing is that I don't like the look of the that massive drum looking thing in between the two exhausts in the back and for a deeper sound.

That video seems to have solved both the problems. That drum in the middle is gone and it sounds pretty good too. Can I just not get the shop to do that, instead of purchasing a whole new system and all that? Seems like it would a lot cheaper as well and solve the purpose. If I want to go that route, what do I tell the shop I want to do?

Thanks

That sounds ok, but I do NOT like the way that it looks from behind.

I run the X02 (HKS replica) and just like others have said above, make sure that you replace the crappy tips with genuine titanium tips, and treat the whole thing with a high temp coating or you're not going to be happy with the rust (and resulting failure/cracks). We don't really get snow and I don't take it out in the winter much, so I've been happy with mine.
