Default JWT + EVO-R or Ultimate Racing CAI?

I currently have the JWT Pop Charger installed. Looking to better any performance gain. Considering the EVO-R type 2 front bumper air duct or switching the pop charger for a CAI with filter mounted behind the grill. I figure the Type 2 allows air a staight path to the filter position where it should help to maintain cooler temps. The CAI will forcefully suck outside air without chance of any heat from the engine while driving. Just wondering if the CAI gives any better peformance while having a longer pipe but colder air. Please be honest and helpful with me, don't just bash freely. Thanks fellas.

With the two choices you gave I would keep the popcharger and get the evo-r duct. CAI are no good for us.

If you really wanna spend some money tho I suggest buying an 06 oem intake box and getting a good drop in filter for it (K&N, Blitz, Amsoil, HKS). Then get the evo-r duct for it. Will make more power than any intake on the market except maybe the gruppe, which I dont know a ton about.

Why does the OEM box with new filter add power? Well I would imagine the filter istelf would be an improvement over stock, but what advantage does the box have? Just keep in cooler air from the duct?

U answered yourself.. Popcharger will suck in hot air also along with the cold air from the duct. The oem box will suck in only the air from the duct

I don't mean to hijack this thread but I just have a quick question about the Evo-R duct. How do you install it? Is it easy? How would you "professionally" cut out the hole for it?

the intake is the least important thing you can change on the car...I wouldn't stress over which you use, they all will accomplish the same thing (which is making a bit more noise vs stock). The gains are to be had elsewhere....the intake isn't part of the equation

It honestely took me 5-10 minutes. They will send you a template that matches up with your headlight and then u just tape it down, cut out the hold with a razor blade, put the duct in. Very easy although unreversable.

For us that are keeping the stock feel though and need a new filter. Wouldnt we want the one that makes 2 more hp? We all know the results aren't something that will even be noticed. But its worth a 5 minute search.

Not true, it is reversable, you'll just have a big hole in your car, duct can come out easy too.

you can choose whatever filter you like, again, it won't matter. The advantage a K&N, or similar, has vs stock is that they are washeable. 2 hp is not a "gain" IMHO - that type of variation can happen back to back, run to run, with a bone stock car
