Default whistle sound at WOT....

whats up guys, just bought 04.5 350z and decided to buy and exhaust and test pipes. installed exhuast first and sounded great with no other abnormal noise. then installed test pipes the next day and test drove the vehicle and noticed a loud whistle only at WOT from 3500-redline. is this caused by test pipes? no exhaust leaks found. help me out guys.....

Turbo Muffler Bearings I believe....

J/K man. I noticed a bit of a whistle when doing test pipes too but its low. It might just be something within the exhaust since you just changed over a lot of things. What if your not at WOT?

The whistles go whooo...

Is it a loud whistle? I have a stock exhaust and noticed a high-pitched whining noise since I've had it; I believe mine is coming from the diff.

its a hks knock off exhaust and ebay test pipes. i also get the drone when letting off the throttle like most people with test pipes get, but im not really concerned about that. that whistle noise only appeared after installing test pipes.

Also, what intake do you have?

If it's a ram-air type intake (JWT Pop Charger) it will have a whistling sound.

i got that whistle too after i installed my magnaflow xpipe on my XO2. It occurs under WOT and when i deaccellerate at high speeds. Its pretty noticeable but doesn't bother me since my car is extremely loud anyway.

BTW its XO2 with magnaflow xpipe muffler and longtube headers. It only started after the xpipe install????

i have a popcharger installed. ill install my stock airbox this weekend and see if i can eliminate the noise. but i dont think its a intake issue. i need raise it on lift to pin point where the noise is coming from. i work at a honda dealer and its hard to find an exhaust noise when your exhaust shakes the walls....

it is what it is...ur not gonna change it..u have a crappy exhaust and crappy test pipes that equal a crappy sound...At one point back in the day i had a cracked mid pipe so i installed my stock mid pipe and tail section to my test pipes and nismo y-pipe while i got a new one and while i was on it i had a annoying whistle sound which i assumed was from the changing in diameters of the pipes..what size r ur test pipes?..Im sure this is what is happening to u...The only thing u can do is buy quality parts that will perform and sound good,....take ur test pipes off and get high flow cats or something or put the stock cats on and see what it sounds like
