I'd think you would not pass visual without oem cats.

Question DIY Installation

So I finally ordered a set of ART pipes for my 2006 RevUp with bolt ons (JWT pop charger, MREV2, etc.) after passing my emissions test two weeks ago. I'm keeping the stock exhaust system for now.

I've read all 33 pages of this thread and noticed most people got there ART pipes installed at a shop. Like my other upgrades, I plan on doing this one by myself at home. For those who have done there own installation, do you have any tips?

I know the steps for the actual installation (including the driver's side stud shortening), but I'm wondering what I may run into with limited access to the underside of the car. What's a good place to put my jack stands, for example?

Any advice is appreciated.

There's a small bolt end on the car that protrudes toward one of the helmholtz chambers on the ART Pipes, and it's recommended you trim it down prior to installation of the pipes just as a precautionary measure. There's an illustration showing it in the earlier pages of this thread.

F2CMaDMaXX, if you read all 33 pages, you'll notice Tony mention it a couple of times:

It will make all kinds of noise if its not trimmed down.

Yes, i did, a while ago, but i'd forgotten, and when the mention of the stud trim came up, all i could think of, was the exhaust studs themselves.

The cat back exhaust. They are easier to work with and more accessible for maintenance..

Just got my ART's on with the TDXv2 - tuned with Osiris at Dent Sport in Norwood, MA. . Below dyno is off their Dyno Dynamics inertial, given the tendency of said dyno to read low I was pretty at results. Who knows though, I don't have a baseline. Power is definitely up all over compared to same setup with Berk HFC, which got me 268 on Kaizen's Dyno Dynamics.

Wish I had a baseline there to compare, but sadly I do not. Power mods Stillen Gen3 longtubes, ART's, TDXv2, Osiris tune by Matt K. at DSG who knows his sh*t. Really impressed with the topend.

Sound is just perfect. Coming from TDXv2 with stock cats, sound levels are generally about the same, a bit louder at WOT. However the ART's also add almost unbelievable deep tones and a whole ton of savagery to the note. Couldn't be happier with sound or performance. Torque is up all over the place.

nice numbers however there def inflated. All good though as long as your happy. You should always have a baseline to see what you gained. My 05 with intake full exhaust and a tune made 31 more hp than this other supposed FULL bolt on 05

Yeah, who knows. Just the only other 350z dyno (no FI haha) they had kicking around their website. My graph has a pretty 300 on it off a Dyno Dynamics, and that makes me happy

I'll be getting my ART Pipes installed later this week along with a re-tune afterwards. I have a graph from a few months ago after my Exhaust+Intake+Tune, so I'll post the new graph here along with the base graph for comparison once I get that done .

Can't wait to see the tq gains!
