They are definitely the sexiest test pipes I've ever seen, and sound great too.

BTW I would also be interested in a set of non polished pipes.

Even if the gains are similar or modest to traditional TPs, the rasp and nasty twang of those TPs is gone with these, and that has value.
Scott, did you re-tune yet? When do you anticipate?

It'll be a few more weeks as my local shop just recently received their Osiris license, so I'm going to go that route rather than retune with my Unichip. If they don't get up to speed within a few weeks, however, I'm going to go with what I have and move on, as I need to get the HP back and see what the true - as tuned - differences are with the ART pipes vs straight 2" TPs and OEM cats.

Looking forward to the first test pipe comparison as well.

update: is there an approximate timeline for the HR ART pipes? Tax refund comes in 4 weeks i'm wondering how long i'll have to keep that in my car savings account haha

The tuning portion and comparison is the challenging part. Having to re-tune every time make sense, of course, but it sucks. Plus, what if the tune on the test pipes was slightly more aggressive than the tune on the ART pipes (or vice versa)?

I just pulled a bunch of my dynos, and this is what I've found:
Program 1: Baseline dyno with OEM cats and NISMO exhaust: 251/237
Post-install dyno with OEM cats and MD SW))) exhaust: 251/236
Program 2: Post-tune dyno with OEM cats and MD SW))) exhaust: 259/242
Program 3: Post-tune dyno with OTS (Injen I believe) 2" test pipes: 267/250
(car was too loud - install OEM cats back on with above tune): 246/229
Post-install dyno with ART pipes: 256/234

As you can see, my set-up was tuned for test pipes and made great power (267rwhp/250rwtq), but was a loud, raspy, SOB. I had to pull the test pipes to pass sound Laguna Seca Raceway, so we put the OEM cats back on and you can see what happened to the power. The ART pipes brought back a bunch of that, as I expected, but we were pressed for time so it wasn't re-tuned (Program #4) for the ART pipes. My local shop now has an Osiris license, so we'll likely re-tune with that once they're up to speed on using the software and finding the sweet spots. I expect it'll be over 270rwhp/255rwtq, and if we get there and all the rasp is gone (which it already is), I will be a happy customer.

I should have been more specific Scotts, although your post essentially summarized my lack of implication..

I meant in an environment similar to one which you have provided, and that is with a pre and post tune for *each* set (xyz vs ART pipes).

I have high flow cats myself and the only thing preventing me from investing in test pipes is the sound/rasp... both of which this model effectively elminates, and I have no doubt these will be sturdier in comparison to what is generally available for 100$s less. I will be making the switch regardless, and I hope with a tune I'd be looking at 5-7 WHP over standard pipes... I'm thinking 5 will be realistic, but again the one thing that seems to be under-emphasized is the fact the ART pipes

- eliminate rasp
- allow you to climb to TP power without TP loudness
- show no signs of a reduction, infact an increase in low end torque

Those factors alone, with the HP gain, imo suggest this product is worth it.. and again, I can only speculate, but I don't think we'll be seeing these cracking etc anytime soon.

Several were sent out for testing against regular test pipes but I havn't heard anything back. At least not yet.

If anybody else would like to do a comparative dyno of the ART pipes against regular test pipes please let me know. $200 cash back for a dyno comparison.

Test pipe comparisons are needed!

just get some DE headers and purchase these, should bolt up. not sure about the whole acoustic part. ??? I would assume it would be near simmilar however I am no rocket scientist as the creator is.. haha. Seriously though Does any one have an idea as to if this would work. I know the DE header part should work however the whole sound acoustic part??

Or he could wait for the HR and not install inferior parts on his engine that are costly and time consuming to install?

Inferior? I am pretty sure we only have one choice of aftermarket headers and a few of HFC or TP for the HR's where as DE's have more. I was personally thinking of the Tomei headers V2 and these pipes. I dont think thats inferior. And installing a header from a DE or HR will be the same in time consumption, minus swaping two of the bolts on the block to fit and align the flange bolt holes on the DE headers opposed to the HR's.
