Tony is a genius, maybe he was able to add the substrate somehow, but you seem to know how he designed them, thanks . Tony has done a lot of innovative things, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was able to do it, there was no where in this thread mentioning the legality of these and their ability to pass smog. I'd rather know for sure than not.

Well, if they run a smog test by just looking to see if you have any CELs, like some places do, then you'll pass just fine; these are designed to not throw any CELs. However, if they tested with a sniffer, you'd be screwed.

That is one combination that is still open for testing. I would like to see that comparison too.

Default Installed, Tested, and Proven

I'm going to keep this short, and save the details for the full write-up. I just got back from having my ART Pipes installed and tested (before and after). Tony's numbers - the ones he's showing on this thread - are spot-on.

I gained power at every single point on the curve, 9whp at the top end, and as much as 20wtq at 2800rpm. Pretty awesome considering it's one bolt-on replacing another bolt-on (my Stillen HFCs).

As far as sound, I'm still figuring that one out. It's not too different, but it sounds like the rough edges of the sound have been smoothed out. Chris (of Failsafe Performance) noted that the distinct rasp that I had before is not noticeable anymore. I'll drive around a little more tonight, get a couple more sound clips, and have a full write up with video and charts ready sometime tomorrow. (I don't think that my wife would appreciate "date night" turning into "let's make a fancy write-up night.")

Tony/Motordyne's products have never let anybody down.

Please post a link here to your write-up once you're ready.

Interesting...hope to see the graphs soon. I was kinda hoping to see a test of testpipe vs. testpipe but HFC vs. testpipes is interesting nontheless. Can't wait.

Drone? Not so much. Rasp? For sure. Mine are on: they are quieter than my 2" test pipes and got rid of all the nasty sound while parf-throttle cruising. They are louder than the car with stock cats, but the power is back. I'll have my plots scanned up tomorrow. I didn't get to see the AFR, which is important and should be posted in each comparison.

I'm actually writing up the review right now, putting together before and after video clips, and have a before-after dyno chart to go along with it all. ETA less than one hour, I think... depending on whether or not my cat will stop jumping on the keyboard.

EDIT: Taking longer than expected. Almost finished. Stupid cat.
