I know you guys are dying to see a pre/post dyno, so I'm not doing a full write-up with sound clips and all that just yet. This is simply a dyno with stock cats followed by swapping the stock cats for the ART pipes. I can certainly feel the ~10rwhp increase in overall power and the broader torque band of ~10rwtq between 3800 and 5000 RPM. I'll get in-car clips of the post-install since I have lots of the pre-install. I just wanted to get this up there for others to see.

2003 Nissan 350Z Track Car

Engine Mods:
K&N Typhoon Intake
UR Crank Pulley
UR UD Pulleys
Turbo XS UTEC
Motordyne Plenum Spacer
Stock, Ported Headers
Motordyne Shockwave ))) Single Exhaust with Resonator, Y-pipe, and stock catalytic converters swapped to MD ART pipes

Numbers are SAE corrected, and dyno pull was in 5th gear.

But I totally understand the desire to save money and the lack of interest in having something shiny if nobody is going to see it - I completely understand. Just don't go nuts if Tony doesn't end up going this direction for cost savings. Awesome if he offers an option, but in light of all the other products out there offered in the same way (polished), we should be careful not to get to the point where we are demanding it of him.
lulz... ive had the shockwave for about a year now... and trust me the "polish" [on the XYZ pipe] is looong gone... theres really absolutely ZERO need for it on the art pipes. i do see what youre saying though about all other companies offering their products polished.... two versions [a polished and a cheaper non polised] would be ideal.

congratz on your gains

I can't comment for sure until the car is tuned for the ART pipes. These are the results simply as-installed. I have a dyno for my car as-tuned with "regular" 2" testpipes, so we'll re-tune soon to maximize the gains for the new TPs; I do expect a bunch more power. Even if the gains are similar or modest to traditional TPs, the rasp and nasty twang of those TPs is gone with these, and that has value.

I only have before right now - MD Shockwave w/test pipes (it's a bit loud with the camera in the car, but hopefully you'll get the idea):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8u56FNIuiE

and a bunch more with the same MD Shockwave and OEM catalytic converters: https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exha...e-exhaust.html

I'll take some of it on the dyno when we tune it and do some drive-bys both on the street and on the track this Thursday at Laguna Seca.

Thanks

My tuned results will have to wait a couple of weeks, as I'm relying on an Uprev eTune. It'll be interesting, but would be a lot better if I had an excuse to go to Austin and get a proper dyno re-tune.

Excellent driving, scotts. You caught up and passed nearly everyone that started before you

Onagao, very nice write up you had on the other thread.

Scott, nice finally seeing you the other day and your ART pipes results are definitely interesting. Hopefully next time we meet, it'll be at the track. I'll let you take my car around the track too, just don't make me wet my pants
