anyone ever have a ruptured a/c line thanks to an injen intake?
a few people (including myself) have had this problem, so i bumped this thread over in the maint forum... but, since not too many people check that forum i figured i'd ask here as well if anyone's been affected by the same thing? i'm looking at a new a/c line, new air filter, not to mention the cost of replacing the line and refrigerant... and i'm clearly not the only person this has happened to, so i'm pretty pissed.

It happens, sucks that it goes unnoticed till it blows. Any mechanic should notice the possible chafe and fix the problem before it happens.

Just for future reference, the AC lines are bendable to a degree. You don't want to kink them, but once you notice the intakes rub on the line, you can gently pull the line away and it will stay in the position you take it to.
true... i think i might just chop a groove out of the bracket and cover it with something to avoid this from happening again, the bracket doesn't seem to move all that much so hopefully it shouldn't happen again.

it wasn't a long intake, but regardless the filter bracket was the culprit. furthermore this isn't a potential problem on other cars i've owned with long intakes.
