Default how difficult would it be to space this down a little?

I had my berk HFC's installed today. Had to use two gaskets to get it to seal but that's another story.

the still existing problem is that this brace now seems to touch part of my exhaust at times, slight rattle at idle (sometimes) and sometimes not.

is it possible to use washers where this brace bolts up, to lower it slightly?

I found a photo and circled the brace I'm talking about. thanks in advance for your input.

(doubt this belongs here but can't think of where to ask )

for some reason, installing the HFC's, lowered the height of the mid pipes, so by the time it goes under the mid brace it was low enough to touch it at times.

hopefully that is the same issue you're having : ) I will let you know what I do because I will not just tolerate the rattle.. something shall be done! spacers or some way to adjust the hangers but I dunno how .. : P

if you confirm that you have the same issue I'll pm hydrazine or the other motordyne rep, they are very responsive and helpful and probably have some ideas for us.

uh .. yeah, it's my motordyne plenum spacer causing the mid pipes to hang lower, please help sir!

The bolts are M10x1.25, so just go buy some 7/16 washers, or even some 3/8 cut washers will work as they are over sized.......just jack the car up, remove one of the bolts and take it with you to verify when u swing over to autozone/homedepot and find some washers. longer bolts too if you want depending on how thick you go...its your car you decide.....

they are the nissan green bolts so if you want to keep things the same, get some 10.9 grade bolts to have equivalent strength........

Mine was actually rattling there but not because of my berk HFC or custom exhaust, but because my brace is all beat to hell..........

I actually had to simply get some channel locks and bend it back straight. I plan on buying another one and replacing it cause its all banged up bad. Probably nab one from a junk yard front end wreck z....

You can also probably wrap that brace with some exhaust wrap...

Could you post up the original picture you used? I've never seen that view before, thanks.

you probably don't have the bassani exhaust. every set up is different.

rattles gone - used a couple of washers. if you want an easier to get to bolt to reference before you jack the car up and start working, the bolts are the same size as the ones that hold on your strut tower brace. pop one off and go to the hardware store.

Did you use longer bolts or did you reuse your old bolts?

reused the old bolts. we only spaced it down maybe a quarter of an inch and it gave enough clearance - the bolts still worked perfectly well
