the headers are still mild steel. the jet hot coating will surface rust... for sure. you can wipe/polish it off really easily, but i dont trust it to keep the rust out of the pipes if wrapped. the stainless exhaust wont rust out. mild steel will. my local mustang shop (currently building my turbo 98 cobra) has done a LOT of header wrapping and they really advise strongly against it on a street car that sees moisture. ive been driving hard with these headers on and im really impressed with the jet hot coating as far as thermal properties. i dont think its any hotter at all than with the factory manifolds... maybe even cooler... maybe.

Drivers side header is a major pita , found a trick to do it. Basically roll the lip of the sheet metal where the steering shaft comes out. Both headers are in now, drivers side needs to be fully bolted up , run 02 wires , cooling system , then fire it up.

ive had them installed for a week now. like i said earlier in the thread... at first i wasnt crazy about the sound change from stock cats and manifolds and a tdx2 to these headers with the tdx2. now, im actually pretty happy with the sound. its just really different. its a race header and the sound is racy, not refined like before. the car is noticeably faster, particularly from 4000-7000 when im banging gears. id say for sure that i gained as low as 3000 rpm because of the cars newfound ability to break the tires loose in the corners like never before when entering around that speed. im really happy with my purchase at this point. i dont have a video camera and am not really that big on documenting all my stuff, so i dont have any vids for you guys. ive been thinking about getting one but im much more interested in throwing all my money at more mods at this point... ams lightweight pullies, 15x10's and slicks, guages that i NEED, my upcoming 4.083 gear swap thats going in in a few weeks, lightweight driveshaft. ive almost got the car where i want it. my favorite thing about the ppe's is that the car is noticeably faster on the 150 shot of nitrous than it was before. that extra exhaust flow really helps. is there anything else you wanted to know about them?

None, hardest part of the install was getting the headers past the fuel line on the pass side and past the steering shaft on the drivers side.
Also instal studs into the top position of the 3 and 4 cylinder , both top holes , to hold the gasket during install. I later pulled one of the studs to thread the bolt in. I left the other stud with nothing attached to it.
Make sure you have a 14mm swivel socket, life will be a lot easier.
Roll the sheet metal out the outside of where the steering shaft comes out
Seems like the heat shield is needed on the drivers side only, originally thought it had to be cut in half and used on both sides.
There is a cannon plug on the pass side that attaches to the coolant pipe that comes off the back of the block, it needs to be removed and relocated as it rests against #6 primary.

Thanks for the quick response...once I got the passenger side in it looked like it was too much space between the y-pipe and headers. I used both new gaskets to close the gap, which is did!
Family time interrupted so I only got the passenger side on...
For the diver side I have the stock headers removed and it's just sitting there. Did you disconnect the steer link?
If so where to disconnect at? I see the obvious bolts, just want some confirmation.
